Not many people would trust Taylor Sheridan with their characters since he’s known to sort of kill characters of stars he either has a falling out with or needs to exit the series. It happened to Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, now didn’t it? Happily, Kelly Reilly believes in the ‘Yellowstone’ creator’s vision for all the characters.
Yellowstone Spoilers – Kelly Reilly And Cole Hauser On ‘Yellowstone’ Continuing Past Its Dramatic Fifth Season
The fifth season of ‘Yellowstone’ has fully captivated fans with its plot twists and amazing developments. If you doubt it, just look at the numbers.
The episode where Kevin Costner’s John Dutton died has already become the most-watched episode in Taylor Sheridan‘s hit Paramount Network series.
If this is happening now, it’s reasonable to expect even more audience attention as the plot continues to thicken around the Dutton family as alliances are formed following Dutton’s death – fans know it’s murder, the family think it’s suicide.
However, with the number of plot lines to straighten out, are we to believe Sheridan really means to end it with this season, or does he believe his characters still have more story to tell?
Hauser, who plays Rip in the show, seems to believe there could be more for ‘Yellowstone’ than ‘The Madison’ spinoff. “Taylor can figure out how to absolutely continue if he wants to. But that’s just Taylor being a brilliant writer. I’m not telling you that it is continuing, it’s just that he’s smart enough as a writer to do that if that’s something that he is passionate about,” Hauser told The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview.
Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, agreed, adding, “It’s up to him. We trust him. He’s a master storyteller, and we help him tell these characters’ stories, and it’s been such a ride and so electrifying to play and so invigorating. I trust him.”
She further said, “I trust him with wherever he takes her; whether we’re leaving her where we’ve left her, or we’re going to find her somewhere else, I trust him. I really could go either way right now. But the deal breaker really for me is the writing, the writing has to be from him.”
However, Reilly did caution fans to restrain from being overly enthusiastic about the possibility of a continuation, saying, “And we’ll see by the end if they want it. Because they might want to just wrap it up and finish it, so we’ll see. It has to be authentic.”
