What Days Of Our Lives Fans Are Thankful For This Year

In its nearly 60 year run, Days of Our Lives has become known for its holiday traditions – the hanging of the ornaments on the Horton tree, the yearly April Fool’s episode, the recently implemented Halloween nightmare, and of course the annual Christmas miracle story.
Though Thanksgiving in Salem tends to be somewhat lacking in familial rituals, with it just around the corner it seems the perfect time to reflect upon all we the fans are thankful for in our beloved world of Salem.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Finding The Real Abigail DiMera
After their impromptu Parisian nuptial celebration was cut record-breakingly short, Chad (Billy Flynn) was devastated to learn that the woman he married is Cat Greene (AnnaLynn McCord) and not presumed dead Abigail.
He also knows the real Abigail’s body was missing from her casket when he had it exhumed upon Cat’s return to Salem. Which means we have to assume she IS actually out there somewhere
Clyde claims to know the whereabouts of her body, which he will disclose in exchange for Cat. But of course he was careful never to say the body wasn’t a live one.
Of course nothing has been confirmed regarding the character making a comeback but it seems a wasted story (not to mention a slap in the face to devoted fans) to have Chad journey through all the pain and torture of finding and remarrying “fake Abigail” if his quest didn’t eventually lead him to his real beloved wife.
Plus, Kate Mansi did not renew her contract with General Hospital where she has been portraying Kristina Corinthos-Davis. Which means she would be available to resume the role she helped make popular. Fans have had to watch Chad grieve for Abigail long enough.
The possibility of her return is a top reason to be thankful for Days fans, especially my husband who I think harbors a bit of a crush on both her last portrayers.
DOOL Spoilers – Leo Stark In love
It wouldn’t be a Days thankful list if I didn’t include my favorite character on the sudser, if not daytime altogether, Mr. Leo Stark! Portrayed by the immensely talented Greg Rikaart, Leo brings a much anticipated breath of fresh air to every scene he’s in.
The undeniable chemistry Leo has with every character with whom he shares the screen makes him impossible not to love. And with the holidays approaching, it looks like Mr. Stark may be getting a new love interest in Gabi and Rafe’s cousin, Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon)!
But we can’t forget that awkward moment earlier this year between the former Lady Whistleblower and Dr. Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson). Leo (and the fans) were picking up major vibes from the not-so-good doc until he dropped the bombshell that he was straight. But is he?
Mark certainly doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to truth telling. Could that have been just another lie to keep people off his trail? Either way, Leo is sure to have romance in future. And that is a reason to be thankful!
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Sami Brady’s return
“[It] was definitely an unexpected storyline they pitched me… all the ideas, I was pretty shocked” was what Alison Sweeney said of her upcoming return to play Sami Brady.
Considering all the wild and outlandish shenanigans Sami has been party to over her 30+ years, it’s hard to even begin to imagine what this “unexpected storyline” could possibly be! But if it involves Sami, fans are sure to be in for a fun ride.
Whether she’s back to cause trouble for Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) or to reveal she was as a part of Abigail’s disappearance, we can be sure it’ll be worth tuning in for.
I’m still holding out hope that she and Nicole will have met up in Paris and decided finally team up to join forces against EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) but I have a feeling that’s too wishful thinking. Regardless, Days fans are thankful for Sami’s upcoming return to Salem.
DOOL Spoilers – The impending conclusion Of Body And Soul
While you might not agree with everything on my list, I don’t think I’m alone in my gratitude for this one!
It has been confirmed in multiple interviews with cast members that former head writer Ron Carlivati’s departure back in July will bring an end to the meta, frame narrative that dragged on for about 18 months longer than it should have.
Fans still have to endure it until sometime around April 2025 but according to sources close to the show, new writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have not continued the story arc into the new episodes under their lead. And we can all be thankful for that!
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Hope Of A “Bristen” Reunion
I’ve said it before and I stand by it still. Brady and Kristen (Eric Martsolf and Stacy Haiduk) are meant to be.
We often forget that Kristen was a well-liked and respected member of the Salem community when she first came to town and Brady is the only one who brings out some of that softer side of her that she keeps so well guarded, even from herself.
And despite what some are sure to fight me on, she does the same for him, being the only woman in his romantic past who hasn’t needed him to to play the hero and come to her rescue. Kristen is a truly independent woman who allows him to take off his hero cape and just be Brady.
And now that Kristen has given Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) the magic serum to cure her paralysis in exchange for nothing but the chance of starting over with her ex, there is reason to hope that the writers-that-be will give this should-be super couple a real shot at happiness. Which, at the very least, makes me thankful this Thanksgiving!
