Blue Bloods spoilers and updates reveal that the long-running show is unfortunately, coming to an end; even the cast members doubt the corporate CBS decision.
They have argued it’s just as successful and popular now as it ever was-but CBS wanted to freshen up its schedule; so why replace it with another cop show?
Blue Bloods Spoilers – Here Is What Is Replacing Blue Bloods Next Month
The series finale of Blue Bloods is just around the corner, marking the end of an era. The last episodes of this cherished police procedural will be broadcast on CBS on Friday, December 13, at 10/9c.
On that same evening, the network will present a tribute and retrospective of the series that has captured so many hearts.
CBS has stated that in order to keep their programming lineup vibrant, they must part ways with long-standing shows.
While devoted fans continue to support these classic series faithfully, the network aims to develop content that appeals to a newer audience, hoping viewers will remain engaged with what lies ahead.
Blue Bloods Spoilers – Several Long-Running Hits Were Cancelled Last Season
In the most recent television season, several popular series, which were long-running hits including NCIS: Hawai’i, CSI Vegas, and Blue Bloods, inexplicably faced cancellation.
Although S.W.A.T. was initially set to be canceled as well, the network decided to grant it one last season before concluding the series.
This was partly due to the outcries of the show’s star Shemar Moore and his fans, but although Blue Bloods’ fans and stars tried, they didn’t succeed.
This brings us to the latest updates regarding CBS’s Friday night lineup; following the conclusion of Blue Bloods, S.W.A.T. will take its place in the schedule.
The final season of S.W.A.T. is set to premiere on CBS on Friday nights at 10/9c, starting January 31, 2025.
Blue Bloods Spoilers – Tom Selleck Is Still Not Happy And Disagrees With The Network’s Decision
Tom Selleck is still not pleased that his beloved police procedural is coming to a close. “I’m a bit frustrated.
Instead of focusing on how Blue Bloods is wrapping up in these last eight episodes, I want to talk about its incredible success,” he expressed (through TV Insider).
Selleck highlighted that, without accounting for any football broadcasts, Blue Bloods would have ranked as the sixth most-watched program of the 2023-2024 television season.
While he claims to harbor no resentment, he finds it hard to imagine that another show could sustain the same level of success for such an extended period.
Nevertheless, S.W.A.T. benefits from having a substantial built-in fanbase right from the start; although it hasn’t reached the same level of success as Selleck’s series, it boasts a similarly passionate following.
