Yeah, Noah Wyle is so back.
Noah Wyle – Returns To Hospital Drama Following A Nearly 15-year Run On ‘ER’
From one ER to another, but the same star to take us deep into the world that is so much important to our everyday life.
For almost 15 years, Noah Wyle thrilled fans as main character Dr. John Carter for the first 11 seasons and recurred on Season 12 before officially exiting the show. As a final adieu to the show, he returned for the 15th and final season for a multi-episode arc.
We may be saying goodbye to old favorites like ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ and ‘The Good Doctor,’ but that doesn’t mean that we’re done and dusted when it comes to hospital dramas. Max will soon be launching ‘The Pitt’ – a show that was initially meant to be a sort of ‘ER’ reboot.
According to Max, the show will be “a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn.”
The show is from “ER” and “West Wing” executive producer John Wells, and will begin streaming sometime in January. Each of its 15 episodes will take place across one 15-hour emergency room shift, with each episode coinciding with an hour in real time. Remember ’24?’ Yeah, you get the idea.
It’s undoubtedly going to keep fans on the edge of their seats as we follow these professionals and their patients across realistic situations.
When ‘The Pitt’ diverged into its own show rather than becoming a reboot of ‘Max,’ the estate of the late author Michael Crichton filed a lawsuit over breach of contract, alleging similarities between the two shows. WBTV denied the allegations, and according to Deadline, litigation is still ongoing.
While we wait for the series to premiere next year, you can revisit all 15 seasons of ‘ER’ by streaming them on Hulu.
