‘Dancing With the Stars’ Fans Are Upset With The Finale – Why?

Dancing With the Stars Season 33 ended with a hotly contested finale and ABC fans are upset. Not so much by the winner, but by other factors on the production side. Read on to find out more. 

Anna Delvey Was Gone From Dancing With The Stars Finale

Ahead of the competition this year, most of the talk was about Anna Delvey. Of course, by now, if you watched the show, you will know that the convicted con artist danced with her ankle monitor on. She didn’t last very long, and the focus shifted to others like Danny Amendola and Witney Carson.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy echoed unhappy fans of Dancing With the Stars when he scorched ABC for casting Anna Delvey. A distraction at best, fans felt she was also an unfair partner for new pro dancer Ezra Sosa. But Anna isn’t why fans are upset after the finale this week. 

The Winner Upset Dancing With the Stars Fans 

Bachelor Nation star Joey Graziadei won the Mirrorball Trophy with Jenna Johnson.  Actually, many people anticipated it as he gave some great performances. However, the finale upset ABC fans a lot. Not because it was Joey who won. But, for reasons beyond his control.

The biggest complaint to arrive on Reddit was about the commercials. In fact, the three-hour finale probably had more commercial time than dance time. Most Dancing With the Stars complaints were about how hard Joey Graziadei worked for his win with Jenna Johnson. But, there was hardly any time for them to see the Bachelor Nation star enjoy his victory. 

ABC Fans Slam The Producers

ABC fan u/wweyonce, a mod on the site started a thread about the show as it progressed. And, it became obvious that by the end, many people in the discussion were angry. Even though Dancing With the Stars fans will probably see Joey Graziadei on TV in the next few days, they were bitter about the lack of time the producers gave to his victory. 

Here are some angry comments from the discussion:

• Seeing him jump up and down in the bottom of my tv corner when they announced the winner was everythinnngg…
• I didn’t even see this because they rushed the whole ending (as usual)
• Cutting Joey off when they’ve had five BILLION commercials is actually disgusting.
• Corporate Channels. Three hour of ads with a dancing show sandwiched in.
• three fu–ing hours of mostly nothing and they still can’t give us a properly timed winners announcement. this show is such trash ran by absolute morons.
• This finale was three entire hours and we didn’t get one dance until the half-hour mark, and still we didn’t get the announcement of the winner until five minutes before the finale ended. You’d think after thirty-three seasons DWTS/ABC would learn to plan this s–t.
