Evan Hofer Gets Sentimental About His ‘General Hospital’ Exit

Evan Hofer Gets Sentimental About His 'General Hospital' ExitGeneral Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) could become a tad superstitious after this past Friday the 13th. During the show, her boyfriend, Dex Heller, went from a ‘smooth and easy’ recovery from a stab wound in the back to … gone.

Evan Hofer recently spoke with Soaps.com about his departure from the show and his character’s exit.

General Hospital’s – Evan Hofer Talks How The Soap Approached Him About His Exit

Hofer states that he had a chat with GH’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, who revealed how the storyline would go down.

After all, GH fans just learned that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was behind Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) recent demise, a cardiac arrest (just like Dex), due to an overdose of digitalis.

Cyrus tampered with Sam’s post-surgical meds, and it appears that he did the very same where Heller is concerned.

Hofer stated his reaction after his talk with Valentini, was, “How’s it happening? [Does Dex go out] in a cool way? What’s the story going to be after?’ That was kind of my chief concern.”

While the actor was surprised by the plot twist in his character’s story, he also wasn’t overly shocked. After all, Hofer notes that with these things, one never knows.

After all, he points out during his Soaps.com interview that Dex has been shot twice and was always in a lot of danger thanks to his career choices. The actor states, “You never really know if this is the time that your character’s luck is going to run out.”

Still, Hofer was philosophical about his GH exit revealing that he believes everything works out as it is supposed to.

General Hospital’s – Evan Hofer – What He’ll Miss Most

With that said, what will Hofer miss most about GH? He starts by saying ‘the people’. He goes on to say that many often referred to him as the ‘mayor of Prospect Studios (where the soap tapes), as he was friends with ‘everyone’.

Hofer ends his Soaps.com interview by noting, “(I) got to know so many incredible people there… everybody who works upstairs in the offices, everybody on set, everybody downstairs, hair and makeup… I’m going to miss seeing my friends every day.”
