Eli thinks that Lani’s motives in helping Kristen find her and Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) baby, Rachel Isabella Black (Josephine and Rosalind May) may tie back to the loss of their own baby, David Abraham and that it may be unhealthy for Lani to be so deeply involved in this. Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that she became way too attached to David Ridgeway (Caleb and Kyler Ends) a couple of years ago for the same reason.

Lani’s deep friendship with Kristen is based on their mutual experience of the pain of losing a child, and Eli is concerned that Lani is not making the right choices and certainly not able to be objective when it comes to Kristen, which she may have to be because if she is assigned to pick up Kristen and bring her in, she may find herself aiding and abetting a fugitive! This could ruin Lani’s career in law enforcement forever, not to mention the possibility of a very dangerous woman and a criminal, Kristen, being free and on the loose when she should be behind bars!

Eli suspects that it was Kristen that stabbed Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) but he was unable to tell him when he was questioning him, although he was able to say “no” to it being Brady, who had confessed to the deed. Lani is in a very, very, dangerous position trying to help Kristen, even though technically she has not been charged with any crime.

After all, with such a loose cannon, how does Lani know she won’t offend Kristen and Kristen suddenly fly into a rage at her and stab her or worse? What if they find Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Kristen tries to kill her for stealing her baby?

Dool Spoilers – Lani Price Is A Big Girl And She Can Take Care Of Herself

Lani’s response to Eli’s worries is that she is a big girl and she can take care of herself – in a gentle way, as to reassure Eli, not telling him this out of any anger towards him. Kristen is a desperate mother who has such a deep wound that only her baby can fill that she lost her mind when she was told Rachel was dead over a year ago, and it’s not fair to find out her baby is alive and then someone kidnaps her and Kristen cannot cope with the thought of getting her baby back and then never being able to see or hold her again.

Brady had talked her into waiting when the truth came out and letting Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Sarah spend some time saying goodbye to the baby since they had raised her for nearly a year and they were the ones who paid for all of her medical care and loved her through the neuroblastoma cancer – they needed time to say goodbye to Rachel and then they needed time to say goodbye to Mackenzie, whom they had thought Rachel was all this time, along with everyone else, until the baby swap had been exposed by the due diligence of Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). Eli still worries, but Lani says she can handle it and that she and Kristen will find Rachel and bring Sarah back!
