The Real Reason Thomas Markle Missed Prince Harry & Meghan’s Wedding

It was probably a surprising sight for so many people around the world to see King Charles walk Meghan Markle down the aisle to meet Prince Harry for their 2018 wedding, especially since the then-bride’s father was still alive.

Another fun fact: did you know that Thomas Markle has never met Prince Harry? He didn’t meet his famous son-in-law prior to the wedding, and he’s yet to meet him even after.

You’d probably have your opinions on the matter: is it rude, is it suspicious, is Meghan Markle hiding something? Because, if reports are to be believed, she got along splendidly with her father prior to meeting or even marrying Harry. What changed then?

Meghan Markle Reportedly “Ashamed” of Her “Frightened” Father

A lot of drama happened in the leadup to the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Thomas Markle unwittingly contributed to one of the biggest.

You see, as Meghan Markle was probably selecting wedding dress designs for her big day, Thomas Markle was busy staging a photoshoot with a paparazzi to earn some coins. The staged photoshoot saw the elderly Markle brushing up on his soon-to-be royal in-laws.

Later on, it was announced that he could no longer make the wedding, with the groom’s father to take his place in leading Meghan Markle down the aisle.

In addition to his health issues, Thomas Markle reportedly decided to sit out the big bash “out of fear,” at least according to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith.

Royal Expert Weighs In On Reasons Thomas Markle Has Never Met Prince Harry

Royal expert Hugo Vickers has also attempted to riddle out the reason Thomas Markle and Prince Harry are yet to meet.

“Why did Mr Markle never meet Prince Harry?” Vickers asked during a chat with The Sun.

“There can only be three reasons for that,” he noted, adding, “One that she was ashamed of him, which I think is a bit unattractive. Two, possibly that she thought he’d done something, but when Prince Harry rang Mr Markle up and asked if he could marry his daughter, he said ‘you can marry her as long as you never raise your hand against her.’”

The expert continued, “Of course we don’t talk like that, so maybe he lives in a world where people have done that sort of thing. I dispute that as well. I don’t think that’s the case.”

“The third reason is that I think she was worried that he might actually have warned Prince Harry – this is not what you’re getting, this girl.”

The third reason may not have seemed at all plausible had we not known Meghan Markle’s half-brother issued Prince Harry a stark warning via letter ahead of their wedding.
