Who says that the man formerly known as Prince has become a sour old fuddy-duddy? His surprise television appearance on Monday showed that Harry is sweet, funny, and charming.
The 35-year Harry was on the BBC program The One Show via video to help out two pairs of veterans and their families.
Post-Megxit Harry has not been seen much, although he was in a photo op with wife Meghan Markle, delivering food to strangers shut-in due to coronavirus.
BBC’s Program The One Show Helped Reunite Veterans
On the show, Harry talked about the Guinea Pig Club which was named for the experimental treatments given to WWII wartime burn victims. He also spoke about the CASEVAC Club, the modern-day equivalent of the former program. The CASEVAC Club helps veterans heal from their injuries.
Via Zoom Harry joined Maggie Wilson, the widow of former GPC member Sandy Saunders, and Andy Perry, the son of former GPC member Jack Perry. CASEVAC Club members and veterans David Wiseman and Dave Henson were also on the conference call.
Harry Was Endearing During the Zoom Segment
Talking to Harry, Wilson described that Saunders had incurred serious facial burns after crashing his Tiger Moth plane during WWII. He later went through reconstructive treatment and the doctor told him, ‘You need new upper eyelids, new lower eyelids. You need a proper nose, I’ll give you a mouth, so you can kiss the girls!’ That’s what happened.”
“That’s unbelievable,” Harry said. “So when you met him, can I ask, he had a proper nose and good lips for kissing?”
The Guinea Pig Club Served An Important Purpose During WWII
Harry went on to say, “It’s so important to remember the Guinea Pig Club and to look forward to everything that the CASEVAC Club is going to achieve as well. Those individuals that signed up, chose to serve then had life-changing injuries — they didn’t stop there and that’s why it’s incredibly impressive. But at the same time, so incredibly uplifting.”
Days prior Harry was seen in another video message, this time to recognize what would have been the start of the 2020 Invictus Games. The games were canceled this year because of coronavirus pandemic mandates and lockdown.

The Games seek to recognize wounded or ill military personnel as they compete in sporting events.
During that call, Harry said, “I hope all those in the Invictus family are coping well and supporting each other through this challenging time. I continue to hear amazing stories of families coming together in online platforms, but please lookout for those that have gone quiet or that are no longer visible on the chat sites. You guys are the best of us, so I have no doubt that you’re all running around and supporting each other.”
