Coronation Street spoilers and updates for the week of July 28 tease Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman-Duttine) affair, Carla Connor’s (Alison King) secret visit and Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) manipulations.
Also, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) gets revenge, and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Aadi Alahan’s (Adam Hussein) scheme is exposed.
Abi’s Affair
Next week, Abi succumbs to temptation with her brother-in-law Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) after weeks of tension, and it’s Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) actions that push her! Abi scolds Carl for causing issues, and he resists the urge to reveal that Kevin is not truthful about his cancer.
However, when a stressed Abi tells Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) that she intends to inform her son Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) about Kevin’s treatment failing, Ty reassures her that Kevin is actually okay.
Abi then confronts Kevin, who apologizes and confesses that he believed lying about his cancer would prevent her from leaving him for Carl. Abi is not impressed, to say the least!
Abi Flies Into Carl’s Arms, Can’t Stand To Look At Kevin!
Abi can’t stand to see Kev, so she flies into Carl’s arms, Abi claims she’s finished with Kevin as she and Carl share a passionate kiss, but it seems her choice isn’t final.
Soon, Abi is forcing a smile for Jack’s benefit, and Carl insists that she’s making the right choice by staying with Kevin, suggesting they should keep their distance.
Kevin fires Carl, stating he can no longer trust him, and Carl agrees to start anew somewhere else.
When Kev informs Abi, she feels secretly heartbroken, and Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) tries to persuade Carl to stay. What will he decide, and is this truly the end of his relationship with Abi?
Lisa Jeopardizes Her Job
Elsewhere, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) jeopardizes her job once more to uncover the truth, not realizing her partner is also investigating.
Lisa confesses that she missed her therapy session to visit the grave of her late wife, Becky Swain (uncredited), since tomorrow would have marked their anniversary.
On that day, Lisa faces challenges but brushes off the concerns of Carla and Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) and goes to therapy, where she makes a significant breakthrough.
Lisa shares with therapist Floyd (Christopher Brand) her suspicions that there might be more to Becky’s death than it seems, questioning if Becky was involved in any wrongdoing.
Later, Lisa sneaks into DI Costello’s (Daon Broni) office to look through his emails for any mention of Becky Swain.
Lisa’s Enraged That Kit Has Been Snooping- Carla’s Secret Visit
Lisa becomes enraged upon discovering that Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has been requesting access to Becky’s file. Meanwhile, Carla covertly visits Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge) in prison, aiming to gather information about Becky.
When Lisa informs Carla that she cannot collaborate with Kit due to his betrayal, will Carla reveal her own dishonesty? The two partners are not being honest with each other about their two separate investigations.
Theo’s Manipulations
We are concerned about Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) as his boyfriend Theo becomes increasingly menacing each week. Their plan to check out a flat falls apart when their car breaks down, but that’s not their biggest issue.
Todd hesitantly goes to a restorative justice meeting with Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor), but he quickly leaves after getting fed up with Noah’s taunts.
He forgets his jacket and returns just in time to overhear Noah talking to Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson), Theo’s estranged wife, realizing they are together. When Danielle shows up at the Bistro with the kids, Todd tells Theo that Noah is now dating Danielle.
Theo’s Son Tears Into Todd
Theo’s son Miles Silverton (Lewis William Magee) attempts to hit Todd, but when Theo intervenes, he accidentally hits Miles instead and is shocked. Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) suggests that Todd should try to mend things with Danielle, who has prohibited Theo from seeing the children.
Todd pleads with Danielle to reconsider, but Theo is enraged that Todd is following Billy’s advice instead of addressing Theo’s issues.
When Billy visits to apologize, Theo is unfriendly and claims Todd is in the shower. However, as Todd comes out, unaware of Theo’s deception, where is this storyline headed for Todd?
Sam’s Revenge
Additionally, Sam takes steps against his cunning cousin Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner). Both Lily and Sam are part of the Eco club, and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) are happy to believe that the two have made amends. This is after Lily locked Sam out of a classroom on a frightening day at school.
However, Sam dismisses Lily’s poster and informs her that there have been six burglaries in the neighborhood, with the thieves always rearranging the furniture.
When Lily gets home, she discovers the door slightly open and screams in fear upon seeing that the furniture has been moved.
Bernie And Aadi’s Scheme Is Exposed
Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) shares that Aunty Rani (uncredited) is attending the wedding, and she expects her money to be well spent.
Bernie and Aadi hide their discomfort, knowing they are concealing a secret from Dev – Aadi staged the shop’s robbery to collect insurance money, as the business is struggling with debt.
To make matters worse, Aadi failed to pay the insurance premiums, meaning they won’t receive any funds! It looks like Bernie and Aadi are counting on Aunty Rani’s contribution to fix their issues while trying to keep the wedding costs low.
Unaware, Dev asks Aadi to be his best man, but his demeanor shifts when Rani shows up earlier than expected; Rani mentions how she will monitor the wedding expenses.
Will James Bailey And Baby Laila Stay Around Town Or Leave?
The facilitator comes for the meeting regarding the Special Guardianship Order for baby Laila Bailey (Araya and Raiya Walton), but James worries whether the conflicted Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) will attend.
The following morning, Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) gathers the family to discuss things openly. While caring for Laila, James Bailey (Jason Callender) receives a call and confirms his interest in a job; is he planning to leave, and will he take Laila with him?
Soon after, we see Dee-Dee heading to work, leaving Laila in James’s capable care, and meets a new client, Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike), who happens to be the man she recently flirted with. Dee-Dee can’t help but smile, but has Laila’s future already been decided? And will James be staying?
