‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers Weekly Update August 4-8: Bernie’s Collapse, Aadi’s Confession, Debbie’s Proposal And More!

Coronation Street spoilers and updates for the week of August 4 tease Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) collapses, and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) makes a confession. Also, Debbie’s Proposal and Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine makes a discovery.

Bernie’s Wedding Day Starts Badly And Ends Even Worse!

The wedding of Bernie and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) turns chaotic when the bride unexpectedly collapses after an already eventful day.

Bernie enjoys a simple hen do after cutting costs on Dev and Aadi’s suits, but then learns that the boys have booked a pole dancer at the Rovers. An angry Bernie confronts Dev, just as his aunty Rani Alahan (uncredited) arrives during the pole dancing!

On the wedding day, the quads are too sick to be there, so they have to watch the ceremony through a live stream with Joseph Brown (William Flanagan).

Bernie then realizes she forgot her lucky charm locket, which has a picture of her late son Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), but when she returns home to retrieve it, she accidentally interrupts a burglar!

Bernie Collapses

Bernie finally makes her way back to the venue, escorted down the aisle by her younger son Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Dev and Bernie appear deeply in love, but suddenly Bernie has trouble breathing and collapses.

Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Dev’s daughter, rushes to help Bernie while her daughter Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) dials for an ambulance.

Meanwhile, at home, Chesney Winter-Brown (Sam Aston) realizes that the live stream has stopped, just as an ambulance drives past. Later, Asha informs everyone that Dev wants the family to come to the hospital, but will Bernie be alright?

Aadi’s Confession

Drunk Aadi is ignoring Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) calls; Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) find Aadi leaning against the builder’s van.

But when Theo attempts to assist him, Aadi falls and hits his head; when Lauren finally finds him at home, Aadi decides it’s time to reveal what happened at the party.

At a summer party hosted by Aadi, Lauren mistakenly drank from his cup that contained LSD and lemonade, leading her to have hallucinations of her deceased abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill)!

Aadi had remained silent about his unintentional involvement in her ordeal, but now they are in a relationship.

In new photos, Lauren appears upset and angry, but when Aadi confesses to Dev and Bernie, they are shocked; with Aadi preparing to leave, will he face serious repercussions?

Debbie Proposes

At the Bistro, as the ceremony waits to begin, Debbie keeps the guests entertained by performing “Hopelessly Devoted to You”. Before long, she drops to one knee to propose to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

Photos capture Ronnie in a state of shock, but it doesn’t take long for the pair to share a kiss, marking their renewed engagement. After Ronnie finally learned about Debbie’s dementia diagnosis, they have reunited, but navigating her worsening symptoms has proven difficult.

Nevertheless, they have managed to stay strong together; the question remains, when will Debbie and Ronnie finally get married?

Abi Discovers Carl’s Car Scam

Abi covers for Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and informs everyone at the Rovers that he is in the clear. However, Abi quickly sneaks out for some afternoon fun with Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) at the hotel, while Kev expresses to Debbie his worries about losing Abi.

At the hotel, Abi is shocked to find a message on Carl’s phone from Fiona Morley (Angela Griffin), and he admits to his illegal MOT scam and other mischief at Kevin’s garage.

Back at home, a thrilled Kevin and Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) share with Abi that Debbie has arranged a holiday for them in Mallorca.

Abi is shocked when Kevin discloses that he was already aware of Carl’s shady dealings, while Debbie encourages Abi to seriously consider ending her marriage since Kevin truly loves her.

Abi Confronts Carl Over The Scam

Abi confronts Carl about hiding Kevin’s knowledge of the scam from her, and Carl explains that they made a deal to keep Kevin’s all-clear a secret from her.

Furious, Abi realizes that Kevin is still deceiving her, and as the week goes on, she pretends to be sick to skip the wedding. She then meets Carl, confessing that she feels awful for lying to Kev.

Carl and Abi share a passionate hug, but when Kevin comes home to find Abi all dressed up, how will she get out of this situation?

When Abi sneaks out to the alley to meet Carl, he reassures her of his desire to be with her, and Abi smiles-when will Kevin discover the truth?

Kit’s Bonding Attempt With Brody Goes Backwards

While having curry, Kit discovers more about Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and feels upset upon learning about his difficult childhood. Kit decides to support his son by taking Brody to a football match instead of attending Dev’s stag do.

At the same time, Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) are taken aback when they notice old bruises on Joanie Michaelis’s (Savanna Pennington) arm.

This prompts them to feel obligated to report it to social services. Later, Kit invites his girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) to join him and Brody for lunch at the café to bond with him, but things do not go as expected.

Lisa Makes A Sweet Family Gesture Towards Carla

Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) brightens Carla Connor’s (Alison King) day with a kind gesture. Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) assists Carla and Lisa in packing up the flat while sharing stories about his unusual flatmate and his current living conditions.

Carla feels sympathy for her nephew, and Lisa reflects on their conversation. When Ryan shows up at the house with a backpack, Lisa informs Carla that she has invited Ryan to move in with them.

Carla is genuinely moved, and it appears that ‘Swarla’ is growing stronger; however, are there still obstacles to overcome before they can achieve their happy ending?

Todd’s Sinister Discovery About Theo

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) discovers something troubling about his boyfriend Theo. Todd excitedly informs Theo that the flat above the corner shop is available for rent, while George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) expresses that he will miss Todd when he moves out.

To lift George’s spirits, Todd decides to join the stags, but Theo becomes annoyed and angry when Todd tries the pole.

Theo pretends to have a headache and insists they head home, and his controlling behavior continues when Todd opts to spend the evening with Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) instead of with him.

Summer invites Theo to join her and Todd for pizza while watching TV, but Theo declines and heads to the pub.

Todd Suspects Theo Is Abusive, And Billy Delivers A Warning

Todd is left confused, and questioning if he might be starting an abusive relationship, the week takes another concerning turn. Gary offers Theo a ride home after he receives a call that the social worker has arrived, but they are stopped by a drunken Aadi.

As Theo heads to his meeting, he is approached by PC Jess Haywood (Donnaleigh Bailey), who needs to ask him about an incident at the precinct.

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) informs Todd that he has seen Theo in a police car, but the social worker mentions they need to verify if Theo’s crime is violent like before. A stunned Todd wonders what secret Theo is keeping and intends to learn more, but what will he discover?

Jenny’s Crush On George

In the Rovers, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) urges George to try a dating app and move on from his ex, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).

Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) interrupts to say there’s a burst pipe at the Kabin, and George goes to help. Jenny expresses her gratitude to George for fixing the issue and offers to make him dinner.

At the pub, Glenda informs George that she has set him up on a dating app and he’s already received some attention. As Jenny hides her disappointment, will she confess her feelings for George?

Amy’s Suspicions

Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) is wary, and suspicious of her mother, Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) motives. A rather uncomfortable family tea is held with Ken Barlow (William Roache), Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), Amy, Tracy, and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) present.

When Tracy proposes they cease their bickering and opt for a friendly divorce in the interest of Amy, Steve feels a sense of relief.

However, aware of her mother’s history of causing chaos, Amy remains deeply suspicious of Tracy’s intentions and the reasons for her proposal. Amy can’t help but wonder, exactly what is her mother planning?
