The Young And The Restless Continues To Make Changes Backstage With Jill Farren Phelps’ Return

The Young and the Restless spoilers remind fans that the CBS soap has been making a ton of backstage changes, and a new one is the return of Jill Farren Phelps. Learn more about this, plus some other alterations to the cast and crew, by reading below.

Jill Farren Phelps’s Resume

Phelps has held vital roles in the land of soaps since 1984, working on daytime dramas like Another World, Santa Barbara, One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Guiding Light. According to the Soap Opera Network, she’s recently returned to the Y&R.

Longtime Y&R viewers may recall that Phelps once worked as executive producer of the CBS soap from 2012-2016. Meanwhile, she began her soapy career in 1974 when she worked on the Guiding Light as a production assistant.

Along the way, Phelps has worked as a supervising producer, associate producer, and consulting producer. She’s also earned 11 Daytime Emmys throughout her tenure in daytime drama, five for her work on GH, and three for Y&R.

There’s A Massive Backstage Stir

In addition to Phelps’s return, there are even more changes to the soap, behind the camera.

Actress Elizabeth Hendrickson recently announced via Instagram that she has stepped into a new role with the Y&R. Fans love her as Chloe Fisher, and now they also get to enjoy her work as a director on the show.

In the IG post, Hendrickson explained she had been shadowing and training over the past 18 months for this transition from actress to director on the daytime drama, and that her first “official” directorial debut took place on the Tuesday, August 5 episode.

She also acknowledged that working with legends Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) was a privilege. Hendrickson posted a heartfelt photo of her embracing Braeden after the scene was done. It looked like it was quite an emotional moment for both of them!
