General Hospital Casting News: Bluesy Burke Charlotte Cassadine Recast– Replaces Scarlett Fernandez

General Hospital spoilers note that fans were completely caught off guard during the Monday, September 8 episode when a new Charlotte Cassadine debuted.

Charlotte took a frightened Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) to the Q mansion when the little girl found out that her father, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), had been shot.

Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) daughter is now being played by Bluesy Burke. More details below.

All About Bluesy

Bluesy Burke is 17 years old, and the daughter of musician and actor, Billy Burke, who starred in the Twilight movies in the role of Charlie Swan, Bella’s (Kristen Stuart) father; he’s also currently in the CBS primetime drama, Fire Country. Bluesy’s mom, Pollyanna Rose, is an actress as well.

Bluesy has taken over the role of Charlotte from Scarlett Fernandez, who originated the character. Fernandez was only 7 years of age when she stepped into the GH storylines in 2016.

With that said, Fernandez exited the role in 2021, and young actress Amelie McLain was recast in the role. In 2023, AnaSofia Bianchi played Charlotte for one episode, and some months later, Fernandez reprised the role.

Charlotte Takes Center Stage

GH co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, recently offered a fall preview to TV Insider, noting that Charlotte, along with her Papa, Valentin, would play a key part in storylines during the weeks and months ahead.

Valentin is set to make an explosive return this autumn, and Charlotte will be there every step of the way. Etten and Korte noted, “She’s (Charlotte) very useful to anyone who wants something from Valentin — and she knows it. She isn’t afraid to exploit her relationship with her father to get what she wants.”

In addition, Charlotte will get closer to family members, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), as the soap is set to develop Port Charles’s ‘next generation’.

      I thought Scarlett Fernandez was excellent! I’ll give this new actress a chance, though. I am just glad that James Patrick Stuart (Valentin) is back!!

      I’m very pleased that Charlotte has been recast. It was time to remove the snarky, sour disposition, ill tempered child and replace her with a more mature, late teen actress. I believe that the Danny, Rocco, Gio, Emma and now Charlotte era of GH charecter royalty is being molded as we speak.
