‘General Hospital’ Recap September 15: Britt Blasts Liesl, Drew’s Dilemma, & Anna’s Intriguing Theory

'General Hospital' Recap September 15: Britt Blasts Liesl, Drew's Dilemma, & Anna's Intriguing TheoryGeneral Hospital recaps for Monday, September 15 reveal Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had a dilemma, and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) regretted her return.

Plus, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) had an intriguing theory regarding Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew’s manipulation.

Drew Manipulated Martin Grey

Drew called Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) to his hospital room and hired him again as his lawyer. In return, Martin wanted the insurance fraud charges against Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) dropped and her reinstated at the hospital. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)

Then, Drew informed Martin that he needed an injunction to prevent the PCPD from searching his safe and discovering the evidence that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) tampered with test results.

“You do know that blackmail doesn’t look good for a sitting U.S. congressman, right? Some might even see it as a crime,” Martin remarked. Drew nodded and said that the attorney needed to ensure the police never found that evidence.

Anna And Chase Find Evidence Linking Drew To Judge Heran’s Death

During the inventory check of Drew’s safe, Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) discovered a wire transfer receipt to Judge Eva Heran (Tessa Auberjonois) that might link the congressman to her death.

Anna contacted ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), but Justine believed that the receipt for one million dollars alone was not enough without solid evidence connecting the Swiss bank account to Drew.

The three  talked about  possible reasons why the congressman would pay the judge to rule against Willow. Chase suggested that it was a tactic for Drew to control Willow and keep her to himself.

After Anna advised Chase to relax, she and Justine concluded that if Drew’s bribe had been revealed, he would have been driven to prevent Judge Heran from implicating him.

Justine Got A Call About Martin’s Injunction

Justine received a call regarding Martin’s request for an injunction to prevent the PCPD from looking into Congressman Cain’s safe.

Anna contended that since the safe was open, it was not an illegal search; the items were visible. Justine cautioned that if the judge sided with Drew, everything in the safe would be ruled out as evidence — including the wire transfer receipt.

“So, that means we couldn’t prosecute Drew for bribery or use the wire transfer as a potential motive for murder,” Anna complained. Chase added that this legal strategy was further proof of Drew’s guilt.

Justine Noted Martin Didn’t Appear To Know The Safe Had Been Inventoried, Anna Warned Chase To Be Objective

Justine read the request on her phone and realized that Martin didn’t know the safe had already been checked.

She hurried to talk to Drew about the wire transfer before the judge stopped her from doing so-after Justine left, Anna scolded Chase for his behavior in front of the ADA.

“This confirms all my worries; you are too emotionally involved in taking down Drew Cain,” she said; Chase replied that Drew had made Willow suffer.

He added  she deserved to know if Drew had taken her kids away-suddenly, Anna thought that maybe Willow already knew, which could be her reason for murder.

Chase insisted that Willow would never do something like that, and Anna cautioned him not to share her theory with anyone.

Justine Questioned Drew In His ICU Room At The Hospital

When Justine got to Drew’s ICU room, the arrogant congressman suggested she was to blame for his shooting because she didn’t want Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) arrested for attacking him.

ADA Turner reminded him that the PCPD was looking into the attempted murder — she was there to talk about what was in his safe.

Citing his lawyer’s injunction, a smug Drew refused to answer any questions, but Justine told him that the request had come too late since his safe had already been searched.

Drew was taken aback when the ADA presented him with proof that he was behind the wire transfer to Judge Heran. She didn’t mention the evidence he was worried about, but this could mean a trumped-up murder charge!

'General Hospital' Recap September 15: Britt Blasts Liesl, Drew's Dilemma, & Anna's Intriguing Theory

Britt Regretted Her Return

Furious that Britt faked her death while working on a secret research project, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) lashed out, accusing her daughter of being cruel and selfish, just like her father.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) attempted to step in as her aunt and cousin probed at old wounds; “I am the monster you created!”

Britt shouted at her mother. With the WSB’s interference halting her research, Britt asked her cousin for a loan, but Liesl overheard and prohibited Nina from lending Britt any money.

Becoming emotional, Britt expressed that she felt Mutter preferred her when she was dead and regretted her return to town.

Liesl And Britt Continued To Argue As Nina Could Do Nothing But Watch

Liesl and Britt continued their bitter argument as Nina could do nothing but watch, even though she didn’t take sides, trying to make peace between the mother and daughter. Britt continued, “In that manner, you could envision me as you desired, rather than facing the reality of who I truly am,” Britt sobbed.

You have a point,” Liesl replied, stating, “As I see it, both of my children are no longer alive-at least Nathan (Nathan West, played by Ryan Paevey)  earned my tears.”

After the harsh words from her mother, Britt hurried out. Liesl eventually confessed to Nina that her love for her daughter would always remain, but she could never forgive Britt for allowing them to think she was gone forever.

Catching Up On The News

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was in a meeting with Carly and Brick (Stephen A. Smith) at Pozzulo’s office when Jason showed up.

Carly was upset with her best friend for not informing her about his whereabouts and felt hurt that Sonny was aware he had gone after Britt while she remained uninformed.

After expressing gratitude to Brick for the information regarding the Five Poppies resort, Jason updated Carly on how Britt’s death had been staged and  he had brought her back to Port Charles.

Next, it was Jason’s opportunity to catch up on what he had missed during his absence — such as the restraining orders that barred Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) from seeing her family.

And he questioned whether Michael had an alibi for Drew’s shooting, and Jason, Brick and Sonny continued talking.

Brick, Sonny And Jason Continued Talking After Carly Left

After Carly left, Jason asked Sonny and Brick about measures being taken to ensure Michael’s safety; Brick had some suggestions but pointed out assisting Michael with an alibi after-crime would be challenging.

Sonny then recounted how Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn)  and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr)  discovered Judge Heran’s lifeless body-Jason was shocked. Sonny then  expressing his belief that it was no accident she ended up in the water near his piers.

Jason quickly agreed Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was responsible for Heran’s murder, just as Sonny had feared.  Once Jason departed, Brick got ready to leave as well.

Brick Assured Sonny The Fabricated Evidence He Put In Drew’s Safe Would Work

However, before he did, he assured Sonny that the evidence they had fabricated would withstand police investigation — putting Drew in a position where he would need to explain a lot.

Brick also promised that if the authorities started considering Michael a suspect, his team would take all necessary actions to prevent that from happening.

Sonny and Brick continued talking about Brick’s return to Los Angeles and made small talk about Brick’s new love interest in LA. Brick teased Sonny in not so many words, that his love life was confidential!

Sidwell Blame Shifts Heran’s Murder To His Son

While waiting at Pier 54 for the boat back to Spoon Island, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo)  questioned his father about whether he was involved in Judge Heran’s death.

Sidwell accused Marco of killing the judge the moment he informed Drew about the bribery. Jenz mentioned that Heran became anxious when a detective began probing into the Corinthos custody case, and he couldn’t leave that loose end.

When Marco expressed his anger over his father’s drastic actions, Sidwell explained that he didn’t take the decision lightly. He further explained  eliminating Heran was the only way to ensure Sonny faced consequences for Natalia Ramirez’s (Eva LaRue) pain and eventual death.

A “Fatherly” Threat?

Jenz laughed, saying that Marco’s firm would be quite busy in the coming weeks, as Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) were involved.

Either knew or was related to most of the suspects in Drew’s shooting. This led Marco to inform his dad that since Alexis was a suspect and was represented by Diane, he had been Michael’s lawyer during the initial questioning, and Corinthos’s alibi was weak.

As the launch neared the dock, Jenz ensured that Judge Heran’s death was off-limits for discussion with his son. With a firm grip on Marco’s shoulder, Sidwell cautioned him, “Never betray me again.”

Jason Found Britt On The Docks

Later, Britt found herself at the deserted pier after leaving Nina’s house. Still feeling upset about the argument with her mom, she recalled a touching moment they had shared before her birthday party on the night she ‘died.’

Taking her phone out of her purse, Britt complained that only her mother could make her miss Pascal (Marc Forget).

But just as she was about to make the call, Jason showed up; when he asked if she was alright, Britt sighed and said she was far from it. “It was a mistake to come back here,” she lamented; “It was a mistake to come back at all.”

Brennan Implicates Jason In  The Five Poppies Mission Faux Pas

In Australia, Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) was unhappy that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) couldn’t gather information from Britt or Pascal.

He was also frustrated that the agents were in a romantic relationship, believing it affected their judgment and resulted in Jason Morgan, a civilian, having to save them.

Vaughn retorted that if it weren’t for Colette Moreau (Mercedes Renard Lopez), a double agent, operating under Jack’s nose, they wouldn’t have been captured in the first place.

Instead of separating them, Brennan chose to keep both agents nearby. With Colette facing treason charges at the Hague, Jack promoted Vaughn to his second in command, but he wanted Josslyn stationed at PCU.

Brennan Assumed Jason Ratted Joss Out To Carly

Next, Vaughn and Joss were curious about how to explain to the people in Port Charles that they had “dated” — especially her mother.

Jack mentioned that Jason probably already informed Carly that Joss was an agent-Joss disagreed, saying she had asked Jason not to say anything, and she trusted that he wouldn’t reveal her secret.

Brennan suggested that if Jason did tell Carly, he would need to explain the State Secrets Act and that she couldn’t disclose Joss’s work with the WSB. Joss joked, “I really doubt the State Secrets Act will be my mom’s main worry if she finds out I’m an agent, but I’ll deal with that when it happens.”

Brennan Allowed Josslyn And Vaughn One More Night Before Their Mandatory Breakup

Brennan then told Joss and Vaughn that, with the Five Poppies lab gone, the WSB would shift their focus back to Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) and his risky cold fusion technology.

He believed it was not a coincidence that Britt had returned to Port Charles, where Dalton was doing his research, and mentioned they needed to uncover the link between them. Joss was uncertain about any significant connection, but Brennan was adamant that Britt would need to be debriefed and hopefully work with them regarding the situation at the Five Poppies.

Before he left, Brennan made it clear to Joss and Vaughn that their personal relationship was finished.  But he allowed them 24 more hours to be together in the bungalow.
