TLC 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days spoilers and updates reveal Usman Umar has distinct scarring above his eye. Interestingly, his brothers have that same exact scar. Is it just a coincidence or what is the deal? It turns out that the scars were put there intentionally and there is a very good reason for it.

During the last episode of 90 Day Fiance, fans couldn’t help but notice that Usman and his brothers, Faruq and Muhammed all have identical scars above their eyes. According to Screenrant, those scars are intentional and have a very good reason for being there.

Hausa Tribe Brands Children

The 90 Day Fiance star belongs to the Hausa tribe. There, it is common practice to “brand” children as a way to identify them if they are ever kidnapped or sold into slavery. Considering that those kinds of things happen in Nigeria, it seems pretty reasonable for tribes to come up with a way to identify children who belong to them.

90 Day Fiance: Nigerian Prayer Bumps

In addition to the line markings above Usman’s eye, he and his brothers all have prayer bumps on their heads too. These are created on children to indicate how much time they have spent in prayer. It is also a common practice in Usman’s tribe.

As fans know, Usman is married to Lisa Hamme. The two tied the knot in Nigeria, but have a controversial relationship. It’s not the age difference that has viewers talking, but the way that Lisa treats the man she supposedly loves. There is a lot of screaming, name-calling, and insults thrown around. However, Usman is a devout Muslim so he usually reacts very calmly, but it’s got to be exhausting.

Some fans are convinced that the Nigerian entertainer only married Lisa so he could expand his career to the United States. He does talk about how moving to America is important to him.
