Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Family Shares Life Support Update

Reverend Jesse Jackson was hospitalized on November 15, and rumors have been running rampant across the internet regarding his health. 

Today Rev. Jackson’s family shared an official statement regarding the reports that he had been placed on life support at the hospital. 

Per a press release, Jackson’s condition is very serious.  However, not as serious as some sites have reported.  Keep reading to find out what is REALLY going on with the Reverend.  

Is Jesse Jackson On Life Support

Over the weekend Jackson’s family confirmed that he had been hospitalized, the 84 year old has been suffering from Progressive supranuclear palsy (a rare brain disease) for a while now and seeking treatment. 

Rumors began floating around that Rev. Jesse Jackson was on life-support, but according to his family that isn’t the case.  As a matter of fact, he’s still working, just from the hospital!

Jackson’s Family shared an official statement on the Rainbow Push Coalition’s website regarding his health, “Reverend Jackson is in stable condition and is breathing without the assistance of machines.  In fact, today he called for 2,000 churches to prepare 2,000 baskets of food to prevent malnutrition during the holiday season.”

Rev Jesse Jackson’s Family Speaks Out

The statement concluded, “The family is grateful for the dedicated medical team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Reverend Jackson is receiving appropriate treatment.  The Jackson family extends heartfelt appreciation for the many prayers and kind messages offered during this time.”

According to a report from People Magazine, Jackson has also had issues with low blood pressure.  But, the doctors at the hospital have that under control as well and he is on medication to treat it.
