General Hospital Spoilers: Ric’s Offer To Represent Rocco Could Usher In A New Era In This Family Feud

General Hospital Spoilers: Ric's Offer To Represent Rocco Could Usher In A New Era In This Family FeudGeneral Hospital spoilers tease Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) surprised all of us when he showed up at Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) place offering his legal services.

This wasn’t a mere act of kindness, if we know Ric, but for some reason, Sonny accepted his brother’s assistance. Fans have been left scratching their heads in the aftermath.

Following Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) hearing on Monday when District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) flipped the script on their plea deal with new evidence brought in my Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton (Daniel Goddard), we thought Sonny might lay into Ric harder than he did.

Instead, he recognized the problem instantly and targeted Turner instead of his sinister sibling. What’s going on here? Are we gearing up for a holiday season where the ice finally thaws between these brothers?

Ric’s Big Push

Ric’s offer to be any kind of legal counsel in Sonny’s world was jarring to say the least. The fan base was left practically speechless. Earlier this year, Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) cut the brake lines on Ric’s car and nearly killed him.

That didn’t make him see the light about his family or decide he wanted to cozy up to his brother, but it appears his stint in Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) might have had more of an impact on him.

Now, he wants to do right by Sonny and his family all of a sudden? If you’re thinking this sounds too good to be true, we hear you.

Sonny and Ric See Eye to Eye

Still, we’re surprised to see that Sonny was first to go to Alexis and drop Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) name in the water as the potential assailant on the night that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was shot.

Alexis didn’t know why Sonny was dropping that name in her lap other than to give her another person — anyone — who wasn’t Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) to point the finger of blame at as she argues that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is innocent.

When Ric showed up this week telling her much the same, and alluding to knowing why Portia might have wanted Drew dead, the plot thickened. Are Sonny and Ric finally on the same side of the same fight?

Taking the Good With the Bad

The fans are honestly kind of digging the idea of Ric and Sonny being a united front. They’d like to see that kind of peace be brokered after all these years, but it would take more than a legal favor here and there for Ric to earn his stripes with the don.

They’ve done a lot to each other, and more recently, Ric has overlooked what Kristina has done. Sonny knows nothing of that, but Ric may have designs on telling him.

Still, we have to wonder whether these two becoming more like family could be setting the stage for a rumored retirement in the next few years from Maurice Benard. I know, I know; say it ain’t so! What do you think?

Is this just another one of Ric’s schemes, or is GH setting the stage for a family reunion before Sonny says so long to Port Charles? Sound off in the comments, and keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers, right here, every day.

Whether or not MB decides to retire within a few years, the feuding between Ric/Sonny needs to stop. As Ric is not necessarily on the straight and narrow and neither is Sonny, the two could work well together. Ric is a good lawyer and Sonny could use another other than Diane who has done a great job for him throughout the years. There may be times when Diane can’t just drop everything and answer to Sonny/Jason/s calls and Rick could fill in for Diane. I think Diane/Alexis would be much better with Ric as an associate than Marco. They both know how Ric operates and the two could reel him in whenever he went off track. It will be interesting to see how the brothers will forget the past and join together as family.
