Daniel Goddard Exits General Hospital As Professor Henry Dalton

General Hospital spoilers suggest the Wednesday, November 19 episode was explosive in many ways, as Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot PCU Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton, square in the chest, in front of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in the middle of the living room at Wyndemere, at the end of the show.

GH fans assumed the sketchy prof died, and now, Soap Opera Digest (SOD) is confirming actor Daniel Goddard’s exit from the ABC soap. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)

GH’s Statement

The ABC soap provided SOD with a statement, as the spokesperson stated, “We can confirm that Daniel Goddard has exited General Hospital as Professor Henry Dalton.”

In addition, it was noted, “Executive Producer Frank Valentini says, ‘I really enjoyed working with Daniel. It was a short-term role from the start, and we appreciate what a good job Daniel did with it. We wish him all the best in the future.’”

With that said, GH fans could feel Dalton’s story winding down, as Sidwell had remarked his employee was becoming a liability, and viewers know that the terrorist doesn’t mess around when it comes to things of this nature.

Not only was his research slacking, but Dalton had also framed Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) for the destruction of his lab, something Sidwell did not give his blessing to.

Drunk Dalton Fumbles

The PCU professor arrived on the Port Charles scene this past April, and fans could tell from the onset that Dalton was a shady character.

As time wore on, they found out that he was leading a research project for Sidwell; however, he was lagging in the progress department.

During the November 19 show, more information was offered. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was summoned to the bar where the professor was drinking at, by S. Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), so she could gather intel.

That’s when a very drunk Dalton revealed he has another lab that the university doesn’t know about and confirmed illegal testing on animals.

Dalton headed to Wyndemere after a confrontation with Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma Drakes (Braedyn Bruner), and Sidwell wasted no time in getting rid of Dalton, much to Britt’s shock.

Goddard had a nice run on GH but is best known for his work on The Young and the Restless, playing the original Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn is now in the role). Goddard was on the CBS soap from 2007 to 2019.
