General Hospital Spoilers: Trina’s Bold Move to Save Her Parents Backfires in a Big Way

General Hospital spoilers report Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) can’t stand the thought of her parents — Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) — calling it quits after less than two years of marriage.

They certainly have had their ups and downs in such a short period of time, but Trina can’t get over how blindsided she feels that they are considering divorce. Of course, she isn’t aware of all that they’ve gone through — and put each other through.

If Trina tries to push for them to stay together because of the baby, it could be a driving factor for Portia to back off even more and put more distance between herself and Curtis. Why? That pesky guilty conscience! If Trina sees telling the truth about her alibi on the night of Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) as a tie that will bind her family together, she’s got another thing coming.

Could Trina have a genetic predisposition to lying out of self-preservation? So far, we still think she’s a far more upstanding person than her mother has been. But being caught at a crime scene — and having broken the law during such — wasn’t on Trina’s bucket list this year.

So when she and Kai Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) broke into Drew’s place to steal back the blackmail-worthy dirt he had on Portia, they never could have imagined Drew would come home while they were there, nor that he would be shot while they were hiding out in a bedroom.

They agreed not to say a word because they felt they had nothing to add to the story that would alter the investigation into whodunnit, but the police may not feel that way.

Don’t forget that Trina wasn’t alone that night at Drew’s place. She was with her boyfriend. It could end up looking like they are guilty of this shooting, or that once is covering for the other.

That is, if it ever makes its way to the PCPD. Trina may have designs on telling her parents the truth because she knows in a crisis, they normally band together. She might see sacrificing herself as worthwhile if it could be the glue that binds Portia and Curtis once again.

But in the process of clearing her own conscience and trying to bandaid their union, she’ll also be risking throwing Kai under the bus — and that could upend her relationship with him.

Just when we think we’ve seen the worst of it from Portia, she goes and outdoes herself again. This latest secret — that baby Ashford may not be an Ashford at all — is one for the books. She had the opportunity to tell Curtis the truth from the outset, but she chose not to.

The more that Trina pushes her mom to stick it out with her dad and find a way to work things out, the more she’s going to be confused as to why her mom isn’t interested in mending the marriage.

When she finds out that it was her mother who stepped out of the marriage into someone else’s bed first, it could seriously disrupt their mother-daughter relationship.
