General Hospital spoilers reveal Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) came to Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) wedding to her daughter, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) with a peace offering in mind.
She wasn’t there to fight, but she needed to give Willow one last avenue out of this wedding before she went through with it, and she’s glad she did. Willow took that opportunity to open up to her mother, despite resenting her for her secret affair with Drew.
She told her the truth about her agenda and why she’s marrying Drew — so she can get her kids back from MIchael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). Alas, all is almost fine and well with this mother-daughter duo now, but how are they going to explain that to Drew?
Nina Understands
It’s possible that Willow knows her mother better than her mother knows her. She saw right away that all that Nina needed to simmer down with her attempts to drag Willow away from Drew was to understand why she was tethering herself to him.
Now, Nina feels like she is a part of the plan instead of sitting on the sidelines worrying about her child and grandchildren.
She can also trust Willow’s judgment more easily knowing that her daughter isn’t completely out of touch with reality but has a strategy in place. Honestly, it’s something Nina probably would have done herself.
GH Spoilers Say Willow’s Plan Isn’t Too Shabby
Willow isn’t wrong. Michael is dating a hooker. She is now married to a sitting Congressman. Say what you want about him, but that title precedes him and counts for a lot. It brings more power than the harms he has done to the people in his inner circle.
Willow said she doesn’t have to love Drew because she loves her kids. If she can leverage his position, power, and wealth to make herself look good enough to get off the hook for attempted murder charges, she can certainly take a stab at using the same resources to get her kids back. But what if life with Drew isn’t quite as neat and tidy as she expects it to be?
Plan B, Anyone?
Certainly, Nina might back off now and let Willow take the reins in her own life, but she’ll still be there to catch her if she falls, too.
Willow thinks she’s going to play Congressman Cutthroat, but something tells me he’s going to think it’s all too convenient that Nina suddenly chills out and is okay with their marriage.
If Nina and Willow’s relationship turns on a dime and Nina starts playing nice to Drew just waiting for Willow to wrap up this scheme, Drew may grow wise to their antics.
These two would do well to keep up the act of a more strained relationship if they know what’s good for them. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
