It looks like if there’s one thing that you can buy as a royal, it’s good PR. Or at least, that’s how it looks from the outside in as a lot of people can’t help but give Kate Middleton quite the side-eye for her team’s latest PR spin.

That’s because the future queen of England was just named one of the best dressed women in Britain this year.

But for many people in the fashion world, they just don’t see Kate Middleton as a very fashion-forward royal or celebrity for that matter.

That’s because a lot of the outfits that she wore this year – including an olive green Victoria Beckham two-piece and dresses that look like they came from another century – weren’t really what you would call exciting or even stylish for that matter.

And because of that fact alone, many people think that it might be the palace’s PR team spinning this for Kate Middleton just to give her the positive headlines that she needs.

After all, things haven’t been looking very great for the Princess of Wales these last several months.

That’s mostly because she’s been getting blasted for not doing enough work, hiding at home at the Royal Lodge and not being honest with the public about what really happened while she was sick.

Not only that, but many royalists have also noticed the tension between Prince William and Kate Middleton, prompting speculation that their marriage might be on thin ice as well.

So what better way to deflect from all of the negative headlines than to talk about what kind of trendsetter Kate Middleton is, when a lot of people know that’s not the case at all.

But then again, optics means everything to the royal family and that’s probably why they want Kate Middleton to look like she’s still part of the in crowd, when in reality she’s just sitting at home and not wanting to be bothered by anyone.
