General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that the Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) mystery may have just been unlocked. Did Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) clue crack the case?
After Nathan crashed his truck and woke up in the hospital, he claimed to have no memory of the last seven years. Between Nathan’s miraculous return and this strange memory situation, Brennan has great reasons to suspect there’s more to the story.
The show has established plenty of conflict between Brennan and Nathan, who doesn’t appreciate Jack’s threats and the implication that he’s lying.
There was more friction on display in the December 18 episode when Nathan pushed Brennan to back off Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and leave her home.
Although Lulu considers Nathan to be her friend, Brennan offered another ominous perspective. Jack acted like Lulu might be playing right into Nathan’s hands and highlighted some of the weird aspects of Nathan’s comeback.
Nathan showed back up out of nowhere and got his police badge back rather quickly despite his seven-year memory gap. Brennan suggested it was all too convenient and pushed Lulu to remember that Nathan’s father was Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
Although Nathan uses the last name “West,” Brennan made it clear that “his real last name is and always will be Faison.”
It almost felt like GH writers were waving a neon sign about a giant Faison twist. Was that a massive hint that Nathan is indeed Faison – at least in a way?
Many fans have speculated that some sort of memory-mapping or brainwashing is in play. Nathan may basically be a vessel for Faison if his father has taken control of his life.
In other words, Nathan’s body may be walking around Port Charles, but Faison’s memories and thoughts may be running through his brain.
Brennan may be picking up on some legitimate villainous vibes and having a very appropriate reaction to them. “Nathan” may be pulling off an elaborate good guy act, so that’s worth keeping in mind.
Brennan has good instincts and plenty of experience reading people due to his work at the WSB. If Brennan’s hunch is telling him that “Nathan” is bad news, then maybe we should take that hunch seriously.
Do you think Brennan is right to be concerned about Nathan and the threat he might pose? Is Faison essentially controlling Nathan’s body due to some type of brain takeover?
