Have things really gone that bad for her? That’s what it looks like as there’s a new report that says Meghan Markle has been named the most disappointing celebrity by her former hometown paper, the Toronto Star.

As many royalists are aware of, the Duchess of Sussex spent plenty of years living in Toronto while she was filming her legal drama, Suits, before she met Prince Harry.

Meghan always spoke fondly about her time in Canada. But unfortunately, Canada doesn’t feel the same way about her.

One article even suggested that while Meghan has all the ingredients to become a worldwide sensation, she became the most disappointing celebrity of 2025. The post also calls Meghan an ‘abject failure’ and says that her star power has been slowly deflated.

The author added, “Meghan could be famous by being open and real. It worked for the Kardashians, who got rich by working non-stop to sell themselves to a world eager to see their latest reinventions.”’

“Meghan wants everyone to know and acknowledge that she’s royal, without the obligations of working on behalf of the monarch, including all those endless engagements for worthy causes.”

Of course, all of that is open to interpretation, but at the same time it’s also pretty clear that Meghan did not have a good week, a good month or even a good year for that matter.

That’s because her lifestyle show on Netflix, With Love, Meghan, was universally panned. As a matter of fact, a lot of people tuned it just to see how horrible it really was.

Not only that, but Meghan also had a very hard time selling products from her lifestyle brand as well.

Even though it was reported that many of her jams and bottles of wine had sold out, insiders say that there was only a limited stock available anyway. So in other words, her success was nothing more than smoke and mirrors.

So far the Duchess of Sussex herself has not made any comments about the criticism she’s received, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
