General Hospital spoilers reveal Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is coming back to us — and to the people she left behind.
Most notably, she’ll be waking up to find out the husband she thought died seven years ago Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is alive and well. Or at least, that’s what everyone is going to tell her.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), and even Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) have all bought into the idea of his homecoming, but rumor has it something isn’t going to sit right with Maxie.
She may not be able to put her finger on it right away, but her heart could feel conflicted from the very start over the man at her bedside claiming he’s her late husband. Is he?
An Easy Choice
So far, the fan base is feeling a bit gutted at the thought of Maxie waking up and possibly choosing Nathan over Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). If Nathan is some sort of imposter, that gives everyone what they want.
The fans get Nathan back, albeit not the way they thought, and Maxie stays with Spinelli while having an easy “out” in choosing to go that way. This might make Lulu jumping into a romance with Nathan a little more palatable too — but not for everyone.
Maxie Makes Her Case
We’re all bracing for Maxie to find out Lulu made a move on her kinda sorta man while she was losing heart function in a coma.
While under normal circumstances, this might make any best gal pal furious, Maxie being instantly put off by “Nathan” could set the stage for an entirely different set of circumstances. Furthermore, she might end up warning her girl Lulu that whoever that is, it’s not her Nathan.
She may even suggest Lulu be careful because she doesn’t trust this imposter. Will Maxie’s position be written off as neuroses in the wake of her condition? Will Lulu listen?
A Wicked Twist!
I think it would be killer if it turns out Nathan is actually Peter August (Wes Ramsey) somehow in disguise.
Maybe that’s what Cedar Faison’s (Anders Hove) cold fusion project is all about, or perhaps it’s some other technology the WSB or Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) et al has gotten their hands on.
Maybe Nathan’s return is nothing more than groundwork that an enemy way laying to toy with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and Maxie’s world being turned on its head is just a casualty of that.
Either way, if Nathan is really Peter, it would make sense that Maxie’s inner barometer is telling her something is off about the guy.
Will she be able to communicate that and limit his interaction with James West (Gary James Fuller) without looking completely crazy? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
