David’s Confused

David believes there’s something off about his sister-in-law, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown). Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) is more convinced than ever that Jodie is concealing something and follows her to a psychiatric hospital where she meets their confused, estranged father.

Jodie explains that she was his primary caregiver after her mother’s disappearance and has reached her limit.

Back at home, Shona snaps at Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie), prompting David to suggest she take the afternoon off. Shona decides to visit her dad, but Jodie manipulates her into going out instead.

The next day, she tells her brother-in-law that she feels very welcomed at No. 8, but he thinks there’s something odd about her and shares his concerns with Nick Tilsey (Ben Price).  Jodie then takes a trinket from a lockbox-what might she be hiding?

As David prepares to leave, Jodie offers him a hot breakfast for work, forcing him to hide his discomfort. She then starts running errands, including cleaning the living room, and accidentally breaks David and Shona’s wedding photo.

Bernie Is Rattled

Meanwhile, Bernie is trying hard to conceal her scandalous night of drinking and drugs from her husband Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin). Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) is still working on Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) flat, while Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) recognizes him from Chariot Square.

Bernie tells him that she is an electrician working on the café and asks him not to mention what he saw at the hotel to anyone.

However, feeling guilty, she confesses everything to Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly Rose-Campbell), who encourages her to talk to Dev about what happened before he hears it from someone else. He goes back to work at the hotel but is angry to take orders from Ryan. His anger grows when Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) supports Ryan, prompting him to discard a set of QR code stickers he was instructed to place on the tables.

When Ryan discovers the discarded stickers, he fires Carl, setting off a dark plan to burn the business down.
