Clearly they could have done this on any other day that had better weather, right? That’s what some royalists can’t help but think to themselves as there’s a new report that says British school children stood in the rain to see Prince William and Kate Middleton during one of their most recent royal engagements.

But for a lot of royal critics, they can’t understand why this even happened in the first place. Because it’s not like a lot of the kids even know who the Prince and Princess of Wales even are, let alone want to spend part of their day waiting in the rain to see them.

Not only that, but there’s also been speculation suggesting that royal staffers are orchestrating these kinds of school crowds just to make it look like William and Kate are so popular that they’ve got crowds waiting for them everywhere they go. But clearly, that’s not the case at all.

Of course, royalists had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “His mother would be ashamed of his adult self. I don’t know how he could’ve grown up seeing her smile and shake hands with people all while being in a horrible situation, and he can’t even pretend to have a fraction of her grace.”

What’s Next For The Prince And Princess of Wales?

Another critic wrote, “They were told they were going to meet a prince and princess, probably expecting something a bit more Disney-esque than woolen coats and brollies.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I doubt teachers get paid enough to bundle all those kids up and keep them waiting and entertained in the rain to see two strangers who act like awkward weirdos. And then dealing with the cold, wet, grumpy kids for the rest of the afternoon.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
