Days Of Our Lives Alison Sweeney Talks The Similarities Between Sami Brady And Hannah Swensen

Days of Our Lives fans love to hate Sami Brady; however, her portrayer, Alison Sweeney, is also well known for her work on Hallmark Channel, with a popular character being Hannah Swensen from the network’s Hannah Swensen Mysteries series. The actresses recently talked about the similarities between the two roles.

Off the cusp of her most recent Hallmark movie premiere, Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, Sweeney uploaded some photos on her Instagram handle from the film.

The caption read, “These costumes were so much fun to work with. I love how creative Kelsey, our Costume Designer, was with every single costume.”

Sweeney went on to say, “It reminded me of one particular outfit I wore for a month straight (I think) as Sami! Lol.”

The post had “Masquerade” from The Phantom of the Opera playing in the background.

Sami vs. Hannah

The photos showcased Sweeney, as Hannah, in a mermaid costume, donning a crown, with her hair down, long, and waving in curls.

However, it’s hard to say what Sami’s costume Sweeney was referring to, although one fan commented about the blue (mermaid) dress looking a lot like the wedding dress she wore when she got hitched to long-time love, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo). Sami has done some crazy things over the years on Days and has donned some interesting attire!

With that said, will Sami ever return to Salem? The last fans saw of her was in November 2025, when she returned for the Peacock soap’s 60th anniversary.

Sami is engaged to Dante Vitali – a family member of Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) – so Days could see an onscreen wedding … or hear about one!

While audiences may not see Sami anytime soon, they will see more of Hannah Swensen as a new mystery is slated to debut later in 2026 on the Hallmark Channel.
