General Hospital Spoilers: Ric Betrays Sonny In A Big Way, Dooms Brothers’ Relationship Overhaul?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that although Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) wants to believe Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) has changed for the better, trouble could still be looming in their relationship.

Ric has been working hard to earn Sonny’s trust, but Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) clearly has a bad feeling about Sonny hiring him to be his criminal defense lawyer.

There’s no denying that Ric is good at what he does, so it’s easy to see why Sonny would want to start relying on him when it comes to cleaning up any criminal messes.

Sonny gave Ric a bit of a test run through Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) case and was impressed with the way he stepped up for Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) recently as well. That’s why despite all the alarm bells Alexis tried to set off, Sonny’s willing to give Ric this chance.

Ric vowed not to double-cross Sonny, but that doesn’t mean he’ll truly be able to avoid betraying him. There are plenty of ways this arrangement could go wrong – starting with some potential blackmail.

What if Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) or someone else with a motive to hurt Sonny backs Ric into a corner? If Ric were in a situation where Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) life were being threatened, he probably wouldn’t hesitate to throw Sonny under the bus.

Even a forced betrayal could rile Sonny up and make him wonder why Ric wouldn’t just be honest about what he’s up against. Ric could do some serious damage if he keeps secrets and sabotages Sonny somehow.

However, it’s also possible Ric could sabotage one of Sonny’s sons instead – namely Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

All signs point to a GH love triangle happening with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) at the center of it all. Dante is growing closer to Liz and may cause problems when it comes to Ric’s own attempt to reunite with her.

Ric already had a successful Valentine’s Day date with Elizabeth and is looking forward to another potential outing. Even so, Dante warned Liz to be careful when it came to getting close to Ric again, so all the pieces are falling into place for Ric and Dante’s rivalry.

Since Sonny is Dante’s father and Ric’s half-brother, terrible news could be coming up once he’s stuck in the conflict. If Ric goes too far in his efforts to push Dante out of the picture, he could cross a dangerous line with Sonny.

Bottom line, Sonny and Ric’s attempt to fix their relationship could be doomed one way or another!
