‘Beyond The Gates’ Preview Week of March 23: Anita’s Deadly Request, Vernon’s Hopelessness, Smitty Is Done

Beyond the Gates spoilers hint that the CBS soap just dropped its promo for the week of March 23-27, and there are some major moments to expect. Find out about all the drama set to unravel over the next five days, below.  

Joey Armstrong Pushes The Button

The Beyond the Gates preview opens with Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) and Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) sitting on the couch. Vanessa wonders (out loud) if this is all a dream that she’ll wake up from, once things start getting good.

Joey replies with a serious look on his face, “Let’s find out!” Will Joey further commit to Vanessa? Could he propose to her next week? Only time will tell!

As the scene shifts, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) is with Nicole Dupree (Daphnee Duplaix) at the country club, as the two are enjoying breakfast and girl talk.

Dani notes, “If Carlton and Kial were cars, who would you drive for 100,000 miles?” Nicole responds by telling her sissy, it is not a competition! Dani then retorts with a grin, “Conceivably, you could keep both!”

Anita Dupree’s Request

Across town, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) will be at a hospital appointment, lying on a bed, in a gown. She tells someone unknown that she wants to sign a “do not resuscitate” order.

As the Beyond the Gates promo progresses, Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) is shown outside the hospital room with his two daughters, Dani and Nicole. He hopelessly states, “I haven’t stopped Anita from doing what she wants a day in our lives.”

Both Dupree sisters look very concerned. Do they know about Anita’s “do not resuscitate” request? Can they convince her against it?

Smitty Smith Is D-U-N

As the promo wraps up, the final clip is between Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) and Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning). Jacob is in the alleyway, while Smitty is somewhere in a hospital hallway. Jacob asks Smitty to listen, as Smitty firmly states, “No, you listen!”

Smitty goes on to say, quite emotionally, “We decided if this got out of hand, if this got dangerous, we would pull the plug. Well, Jacob, it’s dangerous!” It sounds like Jacob will land in a dire situation, and Smitty will want him out of the mission; however, will he listen?
