Days Of Our Lives Alum Carson Boatman Wants A Role On GH, Lucky Spencer?

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Former Johnny DiMera Carson Boatman Wants To Try His Hand At ABC’s General Hospital

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera) wants to try his hand at ABC’s General Hospital.

And he isn’t the first DOOL alum to move from Salem to Port Charles if he’s offered a role on the ABC soap!

Carson Was One Of Several To Get The Axe At The NBC Peacock Soap

The former star of Days of our Lives concluded his portrayal of Johnny DiMera, the son of EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), in early 2026.

He was one of four to get the axe, but  will continue to be featured on the Peacock streaming service until the end of this year or early 2027.

He expressed his reflections on leaving the show and his aspirations for the future during a stop on the Day Players tour in New Jersey.

The Day Players band includes Boatman, Scott Reeves (formerly of DAYS, GH, Y&R), Brandon Barash (formerly of DAYS, GH), and Eric Martsolf (currently playing Brady Black on DAYS). Fans can catch the group performing on the East Coast this coming April and May.

Carson Is Focusing On His Music Career Currently

Currently, Carson is concentrating on his music career, particularly after the release of his latest single, “Wild Thing.”

However, he hints that another soap opera role isn’t off the table. “I would love to make a leap to GH as well. I’m completely open to experiencing life in Port Charles,” Boatman shared.

If GH were to reach out, it could be a great opportunity for the talented actor, singer, and songwriter.

A former Days Of Our Lives star moving from Salem to Port Charles is certainly a possibility, as the two long-standing soap operas have a history of exchanging cast members.

Two In The Band Were On Both Soaps

There are two in the band and one still on  DOOL, although Scott Reeves (Jake Hoganson) and Brandon Barash (Stefan DiMera, Jake DiMera) are not currently on any soap.

Wally Kurth currently plays both Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital and Justin Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, the nearly-year ahead filming schedule of DOOL making it possible to play both roles.

The departing Wes Ramsey, who reprised his role of Owen Kent recently, also played Peter August for several years on the ABC soap.

Steve Burton, who reprised his role as Harris Michaels, returned to playing  Jason Morgan on General Hospital.

Other DOOL actors who have migrated to GH’s Port Charles over the years are Tamara Braun, (Ava Vitali) who played two roles on GH, and  Denise Alexander (Susan Hunter Martin).

A Years-Long History Of Actor Migration Between The Two Soaps

Stephen Nichols, (Steve Johnson) Mary Beth Evans, (Kayla Johnson) Thaao Penghlis (Andre and Tony DiMera) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane and Drew Donovan) have also been on both shows.

So with that years-long history of actors traveling back and forth between the two soaps, Carson should certainly have his agent reach out to the ABC soap.

Viewers who watch both of the shows over the years have remarked on the similarities of the two shows-hospitals being major employers in the two fictional cities, as well as main families.

Thaao Penghis and Charles Shaughnessy seamlessly transformed from DiMeras to GH’s Cassadines, and Wally Kurth’s DOOL Kiriakis family is similar to GH’s Quartermaines. Oh, and let’s not forget mad scientists and returns from the dead!
