Steve Burton’s Hiatus
General Hospital spoilers remind viewers that Steve Burton announced he’d be taking a short break from the show via Instagram this past February.
The actor has confirmed multiple times that he’ll be returning to GH sometime in the summer and simply was looking forward to spending more time with his new bride, Michelle Lundstrom Burton, and his family.
Jason has been locked into an explosive storyline for the past few weeks that had fans speculating just how he’d exit this time around. Now it seems, viewers finally have the answers they are looking for.
Jason Morgan Is Headed To Parts Unknown
Jason was gearing up to exit Port Charles with lady love, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). The idea was to snag her Huntington’s disease meds from Wyndemere and head out of town; however, the plan went sideways, fast.
Once Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) caught wind of Marco Rios (Andrian Anchondo) stealing Britt’s meds, he eliminated him – via stabbing – while Marco was working away at Miller and Davis offices.
Cullum then found Britt at the pier, the location where she was supposed to meet Jason to jet off from.
Cullum took back Britt’s meds and shoved her to the ground, where she was knocked out cold (after hitting her head on a storage box). Jason swung in after the confrontation and got into a physical struggle with Cullum.
The gun the WSB director was toting flew out of his hands and landed in Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) vicinity.
The young man had been lurking in the shadows the entire time, and when the opportunity struck, Rocco grabbed the gun and shot Cullum, just before he was going to hit Jason with an iron rod.

Steve Burton’s Last Air Date
Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) arrived on scene and instantly ushered Rocco to his mom, Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) house. Jason took the fall for Cullum’s shooting and was hauled off to the PCPD.
It didn’t take long for Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) and his WSB cronies to arrive on the scene, and they detained Jason, telling everyone they were taking him to an undisclosed location outside the U.S. until he stands trial.
Jason left town in a WSB van at the close of the Wednesday, March 25 show, as Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) cried at the sight of his father driving away.
