Carly And Sonny Discussed Jason’s Exit

The morning after Jason was taken by the WSB, Sonny and Carly were at Sonny’s house discussing what might have gone wrong with Jason’s exit plan.

Sonny assured her he was trying to find him, but Carly was upset when Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) showed up and found out that Sonny had asked his brother for help.

Carly expressed her distrust of him, but Ric said he was working on mending his relationship with his brother and promised to do everything he could to assist Jason.

For now, Carly accepted this and told Sonny she wouldn’t interfere if he truly believed that collaborating with Ric was best for Jason.

Before she left, she mentioned she would update Sonny on what Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) said after their conversation and urged Ric to do whatever was necessary to help Jason.

Ric Advised Sonny Under International Law The WSB Was In Their Rights

Later, Ric told Sonny that under international law, the WSB had the right to take Jason into custody because he had shot one of their agents.

And he verified that they didn’t even have to reveal where they had taken him. Ric also mentioned that there was hardly any legal way to retrieve Jason.

In response, Sonny informed his brother that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was a double agent working with Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) team.

He also said he had attempted to kill him twice, and was behind the firebombing at the penthouse that burned Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).

Ric Wondered Why Sonny Hadn’t Killed Sidwell Yet

Ric wondered why his brother hadn’t killed Sidwell yet, and Sonny clarified that he was being blackmailed with fake murder evidence-and there was another person involved, whom he couldn’t identify.

Although he couldn’t pursue Sidwell, Sonny mentioned that he could target Cullum since there was no connection between them that would alert the police.

The original plan was for Jason to eliminate the WSB director as he left town, and he was unsure what went wrong.

Noticing that Sidwell would believe the Corinthos organization was weakened with Jason gone, Sonny requested Ric to be his secret ally in taking down Sidwell and Cullum.

Ric agreed to assist, stating, “If Cullum survives, he and Sidwell will think they have all the power. But they don’t. They are unaware of what you and I are capable of.”

Lulu Played Her Press Card Trying To Get Information On Cullum’s Condition

Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) attempted to leverage her role at the Port Charles Press to obtain an update on Cullum’s condition, but she was not successful.

Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) came by to check on things, and she revealed that Rocco had informed her about everything regarding the shooting of Cullum.

Since Nathan had only seen Rocco with the gun, Lulu explained in detail what transpired when Rocco shot Cullum to defend Jason and Britt.

She emphasized that Rocco acted in self-defense, but Nathan cautioned her that without evidence, coming forward would ruin Rocco’s life.

Nathan Said Jason Chose To Protect Rocco

Nathan mentioned that Jason was choosing to protect Rocco; he hadn’t resisted when the WSB took him away in handcuffs.

And since Britt was unconscious during the shooting, her claim that she witnessed Jason shoot Cullum implied that Jason instructed her to say that.

When Lulu expressed frustration that she couldn’t allow Jason to die in a WSB prison for protecting her son, Nathan responded that Jason was making a selfless choice by helping Rocco.

“Do not let his sacrifice be in vain,” Nathan urged. “Especially if Cullum dies”.

Ava Tried To Comfort An Inconsolable Lucas

Lucas stayed overnight at Ava’s condo. The following morning, he expressed his sorrow to his aunt about the plans he and Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) had made, how great their situation had been, and how thankful he was that Marco understood his love for him.

He felt responsible for his boyfriend’s death, but Ava tried to persuade her nephew that the real culprit was the monster who killed Marco, urging him to allow the PCPD to begin their investigation.

Lucas responded that the investigation was already underway, mentioning that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)  wanted to speak with him at the police station, and he intended to suggest they investigate Marco’s father.

Dante Instructed His Officers To Not Give Evidence From The Crime Scene To The WSB

At the same time, Commissioner Falconeri was instructing one of his officers to package all the evidence from Cullum’s shooting so that the PCPD could retain it.

He told them not to hand it over to the WSB when Sidwell barged in, demanding to know if the police had apprehended Marco’s killer.

Once they entered the interrogation room, Dante inquired if Sidwell’s son had any enemies, and Sidwell quickly pointed to Sonny, recalling Marco’s supposed kidnapping last summer.

Dante noted that Marco had been stabbed multiple times at his workplace. He also made sure to note it  was also the shared office of Sonny’s lawyer and the mother of one of his children.

Sidwell Was Furious Over Dante Giving Sonny The Benefit Of The Doubt

Sidwell was furious when Dante claimed that the chance of Sonny or one of his associates attacking Marco at Miller & Davis was very slim.

He then demanded that the commissioner step aside from the investigation due to perceived bias.

Unwilling to be pushed around, Dante suggested that Sidwell likely had a long list of other adversaries and inquired if there was anyone else who might have targeted Marco to reach him.

Insisting on the matter, Sidwell ordered Dante to verify the locations of his father and Jason  during the time of Marco’s assault.

Dante Didn’t Give Into Sidwell’s Pressure, As He Was Leaving, Lucas Arrived And He Hugged Him

Dante argued that Sonny had no motive to pursue Marco again now that he and Sidwell were supposedly on good terms following the pier sale.

Then the distraught father retorted that it was up to the department to determine Sonny’s intentions. Just as Sidwell was exiting the station, Lucas arrived.

Jenz pulled Lucas into a heartfelt embrace, tearfully expressing gratitude for his love for Marco and proclaiming that Wyndemere would always be his home, leaving Lucas at a loss for words.

Dante Questioned Lucas About Sidwell’s Adversaries

Subsequently, Dante conducted an interview with Lucas in the interrogation room, inquiring whether Sidwell had any adversaries.

However, instead of identifying Jenz as a suspect (as he had previously informed Ava he would), Lucas insisted that he and Marco never discussed his father’s business.

He asserted that Marco would never engage in illegal activities. Dante also probed about Sonny, but Lucas indicated that there appeared to be no lingering resentment.

Concluding the conversation, Dante assured Lucas that the department would ensure Marco’s murderer faced justice, to which Lucas quietly responded that it needed to occur.

A Grieving Jenz Broke Down To Ava

Following his departure from the PCPD, a devastated Jenz set out to find Ava.

Consumed by a torrent of emotions, he broke down in tears, articulating that the savage nature of Marco’s death felt like a deliberate message directed at him.

He pondered deeply, questioning if he had somehow contributed to the tragic fate of his own son.

Ava, understanding what it was like to have a child murdered, no doubt flashing back in her mind to Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) murder of her daughter, tried to comfort him.

Ava certainly would have related to Jenz’ self-blame, considering she was dating Chamberlain when he killed Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).

Britt Looked At Cullum’s Medical File When Josslyn Came By

Britt was reviewing Cullum’s digital medical records in her office when Josslyn arrived, seeking information about what had happened to Jason.

Britt provided her with a brief summary, but Josslyn shouted that she needed to know everything.

She insisted they would have to collaborate if there was any hope of saving Jason and the other loved ones who were now at risk.

Britt then detailed how Lucas and Marco had played a role in obtaining her medication.

She then explained  how she and Jason were on the verge of leaving town when Cullum somehow discovered their plans and tracked her down to the pier with the intent to kill her.

Josslyn Made A Tempting Suggestion

Josslyn questioned why Britt would inform the police that Jason had shot Cullum-she clarified that Jason had pressured her to say that.

She confessed she hadn’t actually witnessed the event- and lamented that she and Jason were so close to freedom before everything went terribly wrong.

As she pieced the information together, Josslyn concluded that Cullum was responsible for Marco’s death, and Cullum had taken a calculated risk by killing his partner’s son was a lead they could exploit.

Britt lamented that if Cullum had killed Marco, there would be nothing stopping him from killing her or targeting everyone involved in the situation.

Josslyn then pointed out that Cullum was lying unconscious in the ICU and, as a doctor, Britt had the means to access him; “Perhaps you should take advantage of that,” Josslyn suggested.
