Sofia Mattsson Talks New Days Of Our Lives Mystery Character

Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that General Hospital alum, Sofia Mattsson, is heading to the land of Salem soon.

She’s currently filming on the set; however, since the Peacock soap films several months ahead of broadcast, Mattsson won’t be seen on canvas until early 2027.

While the show is remaining hush-hush about her new Days character, the actress recently had an interview where she provided some insight into the person she’ll be playing in Salem.

Sofia Mattsson Teases New Days Role

Mattsson spoke with People.com about her new Days of Our Lives role. She told the online mag that while she was a bit nervous about her transition from General Hospital to DOOL, “… having been on General Hospital helped ease a lot of worries, as I’m already very familiar with the concept and structure of a daytime show.”

When talking about her top-secret Days role, Mattsson states, “The role is very complex and interesting, and promised that viewers could look forward to lots of fun, exciting storylines and drama.”

The actress also revealed that growing up in her homeland of Sweden, she watched Days of Our Lives, adding, “…  back then I could’ve never in my wildest dream imagined that one day I’d be living in the U.S., working on that very show!” 

Working On Days Of Our Lives

As of this writing, Days of Our Lives has not released the name of the character Mattsson will be playing, her storyline, or any other castmates she’ll be sharing scenes with.

Mattsson told People.com that the set offers a ‘really happy vibe’, with an incredible cast and crew that welcomed her and helped her during her first work week.

Mattsson worked on General Hospital from 2018 to 2025, playing the role of Sasha Gilmore, and was considered a fan favorite on the ABC soap.

As the old saying goes, GH’s loss is Days’ gain, and many fans are very excited about the arrival of Mattsson and curious about who she’ll be playing. Stay tuned to CTS for more information as it trickles down the pipeline.
