Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t see a huge turnout in Australia this week, and despite initial warm impressions by the media, it seems that things soured rather fast. In fact, opinions seem based on how cold and transactional Meghan seems in the Land Down Under. Read on to find out more.

The Hospital Incident

It seems that it didn’t take very long for a hostile reaction to arrive from folks in Oz. On Wednesday, Dan Wootton took to his Outspoken channel on YouTube and explained some of the reasons why folks don’t seem keen to give Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a second chance.

What happened at the hospital that shook fans who hope for things positive about Meghan? Well, per Dan, a source at the hospital alleged that before meeting with sick kids for a photo op, Meghan Markle allegedly turned to her staff and said something upsetting.

Allegedly, she said, “let’s make this quick.” Notably, it’s that sort of lack of empathy that left a sour taste. After all, she and Harry push hard to term themselves as humanitarians.

Slamming The Couple

After the visit to the children’s hospital, given what allegedly happened there, Dan described the whole thing as the “most revolting fake royal tour the world has ever seen.”

Additionally, he slammed them as “Mr and Mrs Grifter,” claiming Australians are in an “uproar” over the cost to taxpayers. That’s despite Harry and Meghan’s rep saying their visit’s privately funded.

Other points discussed included the rumor that the Australian visit might be a sort of testing of the waters by the palace to see if Prince Harry and Meghan should renew royal duties.

That aside, the discussion also noted that Princess Diana wouldn’t have gotten sick kids out for a photo opportunity.

Old Stories Get Revived

It seems that history plagues Meghan Markle and her husband. Allegedly, back in 2018, Meghan Markle mantioned an “appearance fee” to attend a veterans’ event.

Recently, former politician David Elliot mentioned that claim. And naturally, that only makes critics believe the speculation that Harry and his wife always viewed their royal status as a way to “monetize” themselves.

Viewers React

In the comments section, a surprising number of Australians turned up to have their say. One of them opined, “Aussie here, I am utterly shocked to see the hospital, parents and staffs allow the two grifters to exploit sick children.”

Here are a few other responses from the discussion that followed:

  • As an Australian, I am absolutely disgusted!
  • I was watching sunrise morning breakfast this morning an ITV reporter said there were thousands in the street well I can tell you there was not thousands in the streets.
  • As an Australian, I don’t want them here! NOT NOW! NOT EVER!
  • That photographer telling a sick child to “move in” closer to Harry, so Harry can kneel down and smile for a PR photo, just enraged me. How is the hospital and the parents justifying this?
