Nick has been spiraling in the midst of an addiction to pain pills; can Adam bring his brother out of addiction denial?
Nick Has Been In Strong Denial, Adam Noted He Was All Over The Road
Nick has been in strong denial over his addiction to pain pills, as he and Adam were driving, Adam noted he was all over the road-he also noticed Nick was sweating.
Granted, they were in the desert outside of Las Vegas, but the air conditioner was on, and the car windows were closed. Adam knew that normally, Nick was not given to anxiety, and he wasn’t having a panic attack; he kept asking if his brother was ok.
The two had been driving for a while, trying to hunt down Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and worried about his location, the Newman brothers were determined to make the creep pay.
Adam had found Nick in bad shape, tied up and cuffed in a storage room after having gone missing-plus, once they got out of there, they found Clark had stolen their phones!
Adam Told Nick He Knew What Was Going On, To Stop And Get A Fix If He Needed One
Adam could tell the signs, he’s seen addiction before-he told Nick he knew what was going on and to stop and get a fix if he needed one.
Nick finally gave in and took some pills, and Adam took over driving-but he needs to get free of the addiction once all of this is over. Right now, they need to find Sharon and Noah Newman (Sharon Case, Lucas Adams).
Adam has no idea if they even got the message that he left on Sharon’s phone from his hotel room, warning them that Matt had their phones! Soon, unfortunately, they will find out that Sharon and Noah were indeed lured into a trap!
Rock Bottom!
Adam and Nick find Sharon and Noah, but Nick hits rock bottom as he collapses. Later, they realize that Matt had given him tainted dope; Nick’s lucky to be alive, and all of them lucky to be free.
Once again, Matt has slipped through like a slippery worm, slithered away like a snake, and they don’t know which rock he’s under this time.
Adam forces Nick to see the truth about himself, and that if he can’t get free from the pills, then it’s Matt who’s won again. By the end of the week, their dad gets involved-and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) forces Nick to come clean.
