The Young and the Restless Drops Some “Bold” Easter Eggs During Recent Scenes

The Young and the Restless spoilers note that the show paid homage to its sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, during some recent scenes. Did any fans of both daytime dramas catch what the Y&R did? Let’s talk about it!

… And A Baby Makes Three

The Young and the Restless’ Wednesday, April 29 episode provided plenty of feel-good moments between Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

The two just found out they were expecting, and as both of them have lost children before, the good news was also terrifying to them.

Billy was scared to reveal that he was excited about becoming a father again, as he didn’t want Sally to feel pressured about going through with the pregnancy.

After all, her first child was born very prematurely and passed away after birth, so Billy wanted to be mindful of her feelings.

With that said, Sally was happy to hear that Billy wanted their baby and was looking forward to the rollercoaster ride of having a newborn (even sleepless nights!)

The two shared an embrace and then went upstairs for a steamy session. In the aftermath of it all, Billy proposed.

The Bold and The Beautiful Mentions

Before Billy popped the question, the two talked about baby names. Billy mentioned “Sally” as a potential name to honor her and her Great-Aunt Sally Spectra, played by the late Darlene Conley.

Sally wasn’t so sure about naming their daughter “Sally”, and after some suggestions of both boy and girl names, Billy also offered the idea of “Spencer” for a boy.

As fans know, the Spencer family dominates storylines on The Bold and the Beautiful, and Sally had a whirlwind romance with Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks). Billy also offered this name: Electra Spectra-Abbott, which Sally immediately rejected.

This led to a discussion on whether their child should have two last names. Of course, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) is someone Sally hasn’t met yet, as she’s a rather newer character on The Bold and the Beautiful canvas.

Sally Spectra first debuted on The Bold and the Beautiful in January 2017 and departed from storylines in August 2020. She popped up in Genoa City later that year, in November 2020.
