General Hospital’s Kate Mansi Teases “Exciting” News Off The Cusp Of Quitting ABC Soap

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that on the evening of Sunday, May 24, Kate Mansi announced leaving the ABC soap and exiting her Kristina Corinthos-Davis role – shocking fans.

As of the morning of Monday, May 25, the actress is now hinting at some big news, so let’s talk about what’s next for Mansi.

After dropping the bombshell that she was leaving General Hospital, Mansi posted something interesting on her Instagram Story. A photo of a patio at night, with the moon in the background, the caption read, “Goodnight, London moon. More to discuss tmrw …”

Well, tomorrow came! Bright and early on Monday morning, Mansi uploaded a video of her in a car, being driven somewhere, on her IG Story. With sunglasses on and a smile on her face, the caption read, “Some exciting news to share soon!”

Kate Mansi’s Decision

General Hospital spoilers confirm that it was Mansi’s decision to leave the show as she had opted out of renewing another contract with the daytime drama.

The news was broken by the newsletter SoapSteph’s Soap Dish, and Mansi stated that leaving GH was a “difficult” decision she had to make.

Mansi’s husband is Producer Matt McInnis, and he is shooting a television series overseas right now.

The actress did note that travel was a reason she decided to walk away from the Kristina role. She also added that she now has time to focus on other projects, as well.

Mansi noted in the report that, “… it feels like the right time for both Kristina and me to step into new adventures.” She entered the role of Kristina in 2023, taking over for Lexie Ainsworth, who had played the part since 2009.

So, what “new adventure” is Mansi about to embark on? Could there be a possibility that she lands back in Salem, playing Abigail DiMera on Days of Our Lives?

DOOL was Mansi’s debut in soaps, and she entered the Abigail role in 2011, only to exit in 2016, and return from 2018 to 2020. During her time with the Peacock soap, Mansi won two Daytime Emmy awards in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
