Viewers obviously know who Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is, but some actors are not as familiar in 2020 as they once were.

This is the case with Kurt Costner who was played by Leigh McCloskey. Kurt debuted way back in 1996 so if you don’t remember him, climb into the hot tub time machine for a look back at the character who dated both Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Hope Adams (Signey Coleman).  By the way, Victor also was involved with both ladies!

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Katherine Chancellor Gave Kurt Costner A Chance And It Paid Off

Way back when Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) met a shaggy looking guy who was homeless yet intriguing. He found himself at the Grand Chancellor Estate at one point and trusting and generous Katherine told the stranger he would be allowed to stay in return for him performing handyman work.

Katherine’s best friend, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was leery of the guy and warned her that he was no good and would only cause trouble.

Katherine didn’t listen and it turned out that Kurt did a good deed by giving her back a valuable piece of jewelry that she lost. At that point, Nikki had to admit she was wrong—not an easy thing to do for Mrs. Newman!

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kurt Costner Eventually Left Town Leaving Katherine Heartbroken

Over time Katherine came to think of Kurt as a son so she was understandably upset when he announced it was time for him to leave.

Nothing she said could change his mind, plus his romance with Ashley had run it a course. In the end, Katherine accepted the news and Kurt rode off into the sunset, leaving an indelible impression on Katherine and Ashley.
