The Young and the Restless news says that fans are going to see some major changes in the upcoming storylines sooner rather than later and there’s a good reason for it, too. Keep reading below for all the news you need to know.
Major Changes Expected Before The Fall Season
As many of our loyal readers are aware of, The Young and the Restless Head Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffth has stepped down from his positions.
This, of course, means that the soap is working tirelessly around the clock to find someone to step in his shoes.
Journalist Errol Lewis recently took to his X account to reveal that, “CBS is expecting a new head writer to be in place with new storylines ready to go when their fall season premiere takes place in late September.”
He also added, “That said, I’ve never heard of a writer willingly stepping down without announcing their retirement outright, particularly who, just weeks earlier, stepped down as executive producer. All of it is questionable and not at all believable.”
Clearly, many Y&R fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Judging by all of this, a new writer might be installed by the end of July, 2026. That’s not really that long of a time, but I hope the new writer has time to write new storylines.”
What’s Next For Genoa City?
Another critic of the show wrote, “Doesn’t sound like JG willingly stepped down. It’s likely the good old ‘you can resign or we toss you out.’ Either way, it can’t come soon enough. Hope he doesn’t sneak in another kidnapping before he cleans out his office.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Kinda does, seems that way probably did let him go but told him he can say he stepped down willingly.”
Now, as far as what will happen next, remains to be seen. Y&R fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen!
