Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: EJ Frames Holly For Drug Use To Cover Up Smith Island Truth?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) may cross the line in a big way when it comes to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis).

EJ may be poised to set Holly up since he’s desperate to keep the truth about Smith Island under wraps.

DOOL fans know that DiMera Pharmaceuticals was behind a bad batch of Coriseal that was tainted with arsenic. Some deaths in Salem resulted before the remaining pills were buried on Smith Island.

Based on all the water Holly was chugging at the cabin, it seems the Coriseal-arsenic combo has contaminated the water supply there.

That’s presumably the answer to the mystery of how the Coriseal got in Holly’s system, but EJ doesn’t want Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) blowing everything up in the news.

EJ did some eavesdropping in Days’ June 26 episode, so now he knows Brady and Sarah are digging into the connection between Holly’s illness and Smith Island. That’s why EJ may decide to take matters into his own hands to throw Sarah and Brady off the trail.

Considering Holly has done drugs before, Days spoilers suggest EJ may think he can lean into that and make it look like she’s using again.

Of course, Tate Black (Leo Howard) already worked to convince Sarah that Holly wouldn’t have taken anything beyond her new antidepressant.

Holly learned her lesson after she landed in a drug-related coma – and then there was that whole mess with Sophia swapping her supplements for antipsychotic meds.

It wouldn’t make sense for Holly to revert to shady drug use, but EJ may make it seem like she’s done exactly that.

We can’t forget that Days’ summer and beyond preview video shows Holly denying that some pills are hers and lashing out at Tate for seemingly believing otherwise.

EJ may eventually plant pills on Holly somehow and make it appear that she’s been willingly taking Coriseal.

Holly may soon look like a lying drug addict when she really just drank contaminated water, so she’ll be devastated if everyone buys the setup – even Tate.
