The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) star Jennifer Pedranti confirmed a parent’s worst nightmare on her Instagram Story on July 9, 2026. Her son was one of the minors who started a seven-acre brush fire in Ladera Ranch, California, two days earlier.
The Fire Started On Tuesday
The fire started on Tuesday, July 7, around 4:45 p.m. near Narrow Canyon Road and Acaster Way. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County Fire Authority had to use both “ground crews and aerial support” to stop the flames. Luckily, no one was hurt. No houses burned down either.
TMZ reported that Jennifer and her ex-husband, William Pedranti, issued a joint statement. They called the kids’ behavior “unacceptable” and said the incident is a “tough learning moment” for their family. Starting a seven-acre brush fire is certainly a serious lesson to learn.
No Arrests Were Made
The police did not arrest anyone. Officers interviewed three minors and let them go. The Daily Mail noted that Jennifer did not name which of her four sons was involved. She shares Harrison, Dawson, Greyson, and Dominic with her ex-husband.
Although no arrests were made, the punishment at home sounds strict. Jennifer shared that her son faces a mandatory fire safety course.

She also said there are other “consequences within our family.” She did not say what those are.
Will Tamra Judge Target Jennifer Again?
After the news broke, Real Housewives of Orange County viewers predicted on social media that Tamra Judge wouldn’t let the incident with Jennifer Pedranti pass without comment.
And that’s quite possible because she’s well known for scrutinizing RHOC cast members.
In fact, the two women have a long, bitter history. Since Jennifer joined the show, Tamra Judge has gone after her repeatedly. She frequently mocked Jennifer’s looks and attacked her fiancé, Ryan Boyajian, over his legal issues.
Bravo Fans & The Community React
Local residents are not happy with the family’s response. On an Instagram post by @abc7la, neighbors blasted the reality star.
One user wrote, “If you live in California, you know how outrageous this is!” They added that the kids should have been “charged with every penny of resources used.”
Another person felt a lecture wasn’t enough. “You know what’s a learning moment getting arrested and actually having consequences,” they posted.
One neighbor claimed the problem is bigger than just one fire. They wrote that the blaze was less than a mile from their house. They claimed “teenage boys in the Ladera Ranch area” regularly show no respect, especially when riding e-bikes.
A different resident on the street felt completely insulted by the apology. “Everyone was scared, including our pets,” they wrote, adding that people felt trapped. Although authorities have not announced any criminal charges, they stated plainly, “Her son committed arson.”
Jennifer emphasized they are focusing on accountability. Time will tell if the neighborhood agrees.
