James West is still appearing on General Hospital, despite the fact that his “dad” just died for a second time and his mother is MIA.
The son of Maxie Jones and the late Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) popped up in an episode this week, but fans were quick to notice something was “off” with the character. Why did GH recast James West?
Who Plays James West On General Hospital
The character of James West was introduced on General Hospital in May of 2018. Pregnant Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) went in to labor in a car with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and delivered the baby boy on the side of the road.
The role of baby James was played by three different sets of twins: The Marciano Twins (2018–2019), Caleb and Kyler Ends (2019), and Owen and Curtis Rufca (2019).
Fan fave Gary James Fuller took over the role of James West in April 2023 and made the role his own. But on the Thursday July 16 episode of the soap, the role was unexpectedly taken over by child actor Easton Winn.
Fans quickly took to social media with concerns about the surprise recast. The good news is that Fuller will be back on the show soon, but he was in a bad accident and is recuperating.
GH Child Star In Accident
Gary James Fuller revealed on Instagram in early June that he was in the hospital and had crashed his bike.
He shared a photo of himself in a hospital gown with stitches and captioned it, “What started as a ride on my mini bike turned into a trip to the trauma center, two surgeries, and almost a week in the hospital. Definitely not how I planned to spend my week.”
Fuller was in the hospital back on June 5th, which is why he wasn’t able to film the episodes airing this week. Are you looking forward to his return? Do you think we will see much of him now that Cassius/Nathan is gone?
