Perez Hilton Hospitalized After Disturbing TikTok Livestream

A very distressing report arrived about influencer and gossip columnist Perez Hilton on Tuesday night. He was transported to a hospital following a disturbing TikTok livestream. EMTs responded and local authorities intervened in South Florida.

Journalist Joel Waldman took to his podcast, Surviving The Survivor, and explained that emergency personnel responded to a scene in Southwest Miami-Dade around 10:00 p.m. ET. It came after reports of someone showing signs of self-harm during a live TikTok.

Checking it out, he personally spoke with people at the scene who confirmed that the person involved was Perez Hilton. Waldman reported that EMTs saw signs of self-harm, but he didn’t show the video, which was apparently taken down by TikTok anyway.

Variety reported that the “Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed that Hilton was safely transported from his home to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. They used crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate the situation safely before transferring Hilton to a nearby medical facility for further treatment and psychological evaluation.”

As noted by News 3lv, he had previously told his followers that he got the flu, then messed up his medication. The outlet noted that in March, he “neglected to take the medication with food. This led to him developing an ulcer, which caused a perforation and sepsis.”

Whether the two incidents are related isn’t entirely clear right now. But fans can’t expect a lot more information right away. Waldman said authorities were operating under Florida’s Baker Act provisions. Under Florida law, Perez can be held for psychiatric evaluation and safety monitoring. Information will be limited.

“The great news here… It appears the three children are unharmed. His mother is unharmed,” Waldman added, confirming that Hilton’s family members present at the home were left uninjured.

News of the incident shook a lot of people, and plenty of messages of goodwill arrived on most platforms.

On the video where Joel spoke about it, one follower said, “More people need to have compassion & love like yours, Joel. I hope he will be ok & will never feel so alone, ever again.”

Another commenter added: “The video was terrifying, my heart was breaking for him. I hope he recovers physically and mentally.”

A third person seemed grateful for the intervention, saying, “Very sad. Glad he’s at the hospital where he’ll receive all the help he needs. Hope he’ll get counselling, love & support.”

Law enforcement agencies confirmed that the Crisis Response Unit, alongside licensed mental health professionals, continues to support the family as Hilton receives medical care.
