General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) not convicted and in prison yet-did Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) quit the mob too soon? With no enforcer and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) walking away from the mob, it sounds like Sonny thought it was time to as well-but what if Sidwell escapes?
Sonny Dissolving His Organization May Have Been A Bit Premature
Sonny dissolving his organization may have been a bit premature-the enemy he’s been fighting the hardest may be behind bars, but he hasn’t been convicted!
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) made a good point-with Jason walking away, who’s going to be in front of Sonny; in spite of him being relieved when his dad told him he was quitting the mob.
It’s great for Dante not having to worry about him the cop being the son of Sonny the mobster anymore, but what if he winds up having to catch Sonny’s killer, if it sadly goes that way?
It may be true that there are no longer the Five Families, and even Selena Wu (Lydia Look) has left town-but that’s because Sidwell drove her out!
Even before that, Selena had pretty much banded together with Sonny, for what little mob activity there even was in Port Charles anymore-mainly just a poker game.
Sonny’s A Sitting Duck With Nowhere To Hide If Things Go South
Sonny’s basically a sitting duck with nowhere to hide if things go south-but he’s probably thought about that a time or two before making his decision.
Perhaps he decided to now because the things Jason told him about needing to be there for Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) struck a chord in Sonny too.
How many times were his children in danger because of his mob business-the mob business was directly responsible for the loss of Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig)! His children have been kidnapped over the years, and it’s been all because of him and the “business!”
Maybe Sonny Will Be Okay, And Port Charles Will Be Calm
Maybe Sonny will be okay, and Port Charles will be calm-but still, it’s very dangerous for him to be complacent with Sidwell still not fully dealt with.
True, Sidwell doesn’t have any of his former flunkies to break him out, but that’s just in Port Charles-what if he has henchmen overseas?
Sidwell’s assets are frozen and his company up for grabs-and Sonny still wants his piers back, since Corinthos Coffee is one of his legitimate businesses.
But Sonny would be wise to continue to watch his back for a while yet-until it’s sure that there’s no danger. He absolutely should keep his men and his safe houses during his transition to no mob ties at all, otherwise it would simply be foolish.
