5 Reasons Kin Shriner Needs To Return As Scotty Baldwin On General HospitalGeneral Hospital spoilers reveal it’s been a hot minute since fans have seen Scotty Baldwin, played by Kin Shriner, on canvas.

He left storylines as he skipped town to escape Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) grip in August 2024, after playing a small role in tampering with the mob boss’ bipolar medication.

With that said, is it time for Scotty to return? Here are five reasons the ABC soap needs to bring him back!

5. Serena Baldwin’s Presence

Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) returned to Port Charles in late July to help her surrogate mom, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), with Deception drama.

As Serena’s dad, it would be lovely to see Scotty come back to the little town and reunite with his daughter. Especially since fans enjoyed watching Serena grow up onscreen and she shared such a special bond with her father.

4. Romantic Reunion

Speaking of reunions, presuming Scotty is single, and General Hospital fans know Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is single. Why not have the lawyer come back and reignite some of those old sparks the two shared?

Even if Scotty and Lucy agreed to just stay friends, they share such incredible onscreen chemistry whether as BFFs or a couple.

3. The Liesl Obrecht Factor

Liesl Obrecht, played by Kathleen Gati, returned after a hiatus in 2025. Liesl and Scotty were a couple before they broke up and exited around the same time. Many fans enjoyed their romance and would love to see them reunite.

With that said, as Liesl is in Port Charles and Scotty is not, this makes it very difficult! Why not have him return to rekindle something special?

2. Scotty Baldwin’s History

Currently, Genie Francis is the longest-serving cast member playing the iconic Laura Collins. Shriner joined the ABC soap the same year she did, in 1977.

At the end of the day, Scotty has so much history that General Hospital can tap into if her returned.

Kin Shriner Wants To Come Back

It’s clear that Shriner loves General Hospital and his time on the soap; one only has to look at his social media to see this. He adores the show, loves all his former castmates, and is friends with many of them.

But not only would the actor easily want to return, but Scotty’s comeback would stir excitement in storylines and among the fans!
