Meghan Markle Upstaged? David Beckham Beats Her to ‘The Gentlemen’ as Old Feud Resurfaces

Meghan Markle may still be in talks to make her grand return to acting in Netflix’s popular series ‘The Gentlemen,’ but David Beckham has already gone ahead and clinched a role.

The famous football star has famously joined the campaign to promote the show’s second season. This move comes after the show received vast attention following reports that claim that Meghan was attached to the project.

David Beckham Stars In the First Brand Partnership For Netflix’s ‘The Gentlemen’

Sir David Beckham recently joined actor Theo James for a campaign that puts them firmly in the world of the crime drama ‘The Gentlemen.’

The global campaign was a joint effort from Netflix and Stella Artois, and was released to get fans excited about the upcoming second season.

The collaboration marks the first brand partnership for ‘The Gentlemen.’ It also kicked off the inaugural multi-market activation between Netflix and AB InBev, Stella Artois’ parent company.

Last year, the global giants signed a multi-year deal that will allow AB InBev’s portfolio of brands to be a central part of Netflix programming, marketing campaigns and live events across several territories. This new campaign falls under the deal.

This also means that Stella Artois has become the very first brand to partner with the Guy Ritchie series. This collaboration saw the union of a global sports star and an entertainment figure.

For the campaign, Beckham, who serves as Stella Artois’s ambassador, appeared alongside James, who reprises his Eddie Horniman role.

The campaign, which covers territories such as the US, UK, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa and South Korea, comes ahead of the show’s premiere on September 3.

The former England captain and his wife Victoria Beckham may have been on the grounds during Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding, but they fell out with the Sussexes shortly after.

Apparently, Meghan was peeved that Victoria’s people allegedly leaked news about her, which prompted Harry to call in. Anyway, it ended up being a whole thing that drove the once-friendly couples apart.

The Waleses have continued to maintain a close friendship with the Beckhams, with Princess Catherine repeatedly spotting looks from Victoria Beckham’s brand.
