That’s because Katie thinks his current squeeze, Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock), is a gold digger who is after the family fortune.

Will boomeranged to Dylan after Electra dumped him. WE are still in love and everyone knows this, but Katie feels emboldened to trash Dylan and wish Electra would give her son another chance.
