That’s because the King of England had made it clear in a statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to be treated as private citizens now that they are back in the UK and not as full-time working members of the royal family.

And because of it, Harry and Meghan are not going to get the same kind of security detail that other members of the monarchy get, which apparently is what they’ve been asking for behind closed doors this entire time.

But King Charles is making it clear that he’s not going to tolerate them having one foot in the palace and one foot out. They are free to live anywhere in the UK, but they are also not going to be treated as bona fide members of the royal family, either.

What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?

According to Radar Online, one source close to the situation even put it this way, “They are being reminded in very explicit terms of where the boundaries lie and how little room there is for interpretation.”

“That has inevitably prompted some difficult conversations between them about what their future in the UK is realistically going to look like, and they are already questioning their return to Britain.”

The insider also added, “They made an enormous decision in bringing their family back after six years in California, so nobody is suggesting they are about to pack their bags again. But they are beginning to question whether the version of life in Britain they envisaged before returning can actually exist under these circumstances.”
