When Calls The Heart’s Lori Loughlin Talks Return & “Redemption”

When Calls the Heart (WCTH) fans are incredibly excited about Lori Loughlin’s return as Abigail Stanton during Season 14, after a seven-year leave. Now, Loughlin is talking about her WCTH comeback and ‘redemption’.

 Lori Loughlin Is Happy

Loughlin talked to Soaps.com, noting her WCTH return marks a double comeback to Hallmark, as she’ll not only be appearing in Hope Valley, but her Garage Sale Mysteries franchise, too.

Loughlin stated that she couldn’t be happier to reunite with both the WCTH cast as well as Garage Sale Mysteries co-stars. She added, “They are my friends; I’ve known them for over a decade now. I love them all dearly.”

With that said, Hearties can hold on to their hats, because while the actress couldn’t provide many WCTH spoilers, she did provide a small tidbit. According to Louglin, “There’s a little secret, a little mystery that Abigail brings back to the town.”

Abigail was last seen in Hope Valley when she left in 2019 to take care of her mom, who was sick. She re-emerged as Abigail in 2021 when she appeared in the WCTH spin-off that airs on GAC Family, When Hope Calls.

Feels Like Home

Loughlin goes on to say that even though so much time has passed since she was last on WCTH, she feels as if no time has passed at all.

Her castmates continued to check in on her to make sure she was okay on the set, and the actress goes on to say it feels as if she never left.

While Hallmark did cut ties with Loughlin seven years ago due to the college admissions scandal, the actress has nothing but good words to say about the network. She states, “I’m very grateful to Hallmark for the opportunity.”

She goes on to note, “I had some friends at the network who were gone, and they have come back – and they’ve always been good, loyal people.”

Loughlin concludes with, “I think that this group that runs Hallmark now practices what they preach, which is all the Hallmark stories of redemption, community, loving people, and giving people a second chance.”

WCTH’s Season 14 is slated to debut in 2027.
