General Hospital spoilers reveal that Blythe Howard made a splashing debut as Monet Mitchell during the Wednesday, September 23 episode.

Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) retained the lawyer to help him with his potential divorce and custody case. With that said, it was clear during their chat, and subsequent scenes that Monet was no stranger to the Quartermaines.

Could she somehow be connected to the Qs, or could Monet be part of the Ward family? Let’s talk about it!

The Ward Family History

Digging into the General Hospital history vault comes a storyline that involves the Ward family.

First and foremost, Justus Ward (M’fundo Morrison) was the unknown grandson of Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle). The truth that Edward was Justus’ father’s, biological father, came out in the 1990s.

Justus also had a cousin in storylines, named Kiesha Ward (Senait Ashenafi). Keisha was not related to the Quartermaines by blood.

However, shared romances with both Jason Quartermaine (Steve Burton) (before the accident that transformed him to Jason Morgan) and AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan).

Keisha was initially with Jason but then formed a bond with AJ after the big accident that changed everything for Jason and the Quartermaines.

Monet Mitchell Has Beef

It was clear through Monet and Chase’s discussion, and subsequently her confrontation with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) that Monet has beef with the Qs, specifically Tracy (although future interactions with others in the family may be similar, so it’s hard to say at this point).

Could Monet be linked to the Wards? Justus passed away in 2006, so there is a possibility she’s an unknown daughter, but could she be an offspring to another Ward member?

It’s important to note that Keisha did leave Port Charles in the spring of 1998. While Blythe Howard is 41, that doesn’t mean that Monet Mitchell is. Could Monet be the long-lost daughter of AJ’s?

Could Keisha have been pregnant with AJ’s baby when she left Port Charles? With both AJ and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) gone she has no ties to the family but through Tracy and Jason (and extended cousin ties).

Was Monet raised to believe the Qs were terrible, money-hungry people by her mom? Does she even know she may be a Quartermaine? Only time will tell.
